Siobhán didn’t know whether to smile or squirm in her seat with embarrassment; they were right. She wasn’t a church mouse and she wasn’t useless, and she had denied her power and her heritage long enough. She lifted her head and took a steadying breath, talking about herself, opening up and working with others wasn’t easy for her.

“I meant I don’t know how much help I can be because I won’t be able to do what I did at the cemetery. What I did was equivalent to a normal human woman lifting a car single handedly to save a loved one who was pinned beneath it.” She explained with a shrug. It wasn’t the most accurate explanation of why she couldn’t access that kind of power any time soon, but it was the easiest. “using and releasing so much uncontrolled power untrained and unprepared has come at a cost and as of right now I have as much magic as a limp dish rag.” She admitted with a small sigh of resignation before looking at Lacy earnestly “Magic is amazing, wonderful and life changing, but, ‘There Is No Such Thing as A Free Lunch’ as my Aunts would say. Everything has a price, magic especially so.” She offered as both explanation and warning.

Siobhán went quiet at Wren’s question, she wasn’t sure about going to others, bringing tales of Satan worshiping, necromancer, witch’s to those in charge usually lead to murderous hysteria, witch hunts and the inevitable burning stake.

“What do we even tell them? I mean right now all we have is “Keep a look out for a pretty blond woman, she can summon up an army of zombies and thinks Satan is her God’. We know she escaped but to where and what does she want? Or more to the point what has the lord of lies sent her to do?”

That was the real question. Was Tess doing this for kicks or was there a purpose? Suddenly her eyes opened wide as she remembered something from the cemetery.

“What is the Treacle?” She asked Sabrina

Naoise purred in pleasure as Arutha kissed him, the sound a light vibration in the back of his throat as he pulled Arutha closer towards him and weaved his legs through his.. He deepened their kiss, his lips drinking him in, tasting and teasing him a moment before he pulled away slightly.

" I have dreamed of this moment " he whispered, his lips a mere breath away as he ran his hand through Arutha's hair, his eyes gazing tenderly into his.
" I have dreamed of laying thus and talking all night long with you about everything and anything as we held each other." His lips twitched suddenly as he smiled with wicked delight. "I have also dreamed of us naked, sweating, deep in the throws of making love to each other" he said as he kissed him again. " but this is a dream and therefore ephemeral and fleeting without more practice and learning. I don't know how long we have Mo Gra" he said as he trailed his fingers down and over Arutha's shoulder and along his ribs and waist before resting his hand on his hips.

"What do you desire with this short time we have Arutha?'

As they traveled back to the motel on the bike, with him hanging halfway out of Arutha's sweatshirt he had the sudden though and image of him in one of those front baby pouches that proud parents used to carry their little darlings in. The idea was amusing as hell but also safer and more practical for them both if the motorbike was going to be their chosen mode of transportation and so as they pulled up at the front of the motel he shared the idea and imagery with Arutha.

When Arutha took him out of his shirt and placed him on the ground he quickly started sniffing the air for zombies. for Kevla or for anyone else that might be around but he wasn't a dog and so sent his mind and magical senses out instead but after the ass whooping Tess had given him even that wasn't very great either. The parking lot was a mess and the street even more so. he was surprised there wasn't police around asking questions or people out gawking, surely they didn't sleep through a zombie invasion.

*Kevla?* he sent questioningly towards Arutha's sister as he approached their motel room door.

Saraekiel felt regret and disappointment as Zoheret stood up, their game had been fun, and he had hoped Zoheret would have chosen to take it further, and maybe she would, but he doubted it would progress any further tonight.

At her words he visibly relaxed. He had hoped Zoheret would stand with him but he hadn't expected it. Zoheret was a power onto herself and one that should never be taken for granted or underestimated. She was right, he was better with her then against her and he knew there was no one else he could trust, was worthy of his trust.

He stared at her perfect waist before slowly raising his eyes to hers as she looked down upon him and as she pushed his hair back from his face he leaned into her touch before standing up also. Their bodies were no more than a breath away from each other and he could feel the warmth of her pressing against him as he raised his right hand and caressed her face from temple, down across her perfect cheekbone, her cheek and down to her neck before dropping his hand back to his side. There was no power in his touch, it was just a simple and honest caress of appreciation, an acknowledgement of her beauty, her power, both as a female of his race and of herself, for she deserved respect and was worthy of it.

“Assurances? Words are cheap Zoheret, but they are all I have right now. I give you my loyalty” he smiled wryly. Loyalty to him was of utmost importance, he neither offered it lightly or very often and was unbreakable unless they betrayed him, then may the Creator forgive them because he would not. “and my oath to never betray that loyalty. I will stand beside you and behind you. I will watch your back and protect your flank.”

He smiled again though in amusement this time as he continued “I am not swearing obedience, but I will give you my honesty. No more power games between us…unless they are mutually fun ones.” He tilted his head slightly and gave her a considering look. Trusting one of his kind was hard since no one had ever betrayed him as badly or as completely like his own kind had. “However, I expect the same in return. Your loyalty and honesty; argue with me as much as you like, disagree, tell me no, but just be honest and don’t betray me and I will be your best and most loyal ally…and friend, if that is something of worth to you”

Siobhan sank into her seat with her face downcast as she looked down at the floor, avoiding anyone else's gaze. the idea of potentially facing off against Lucifer unnerved her, the less that damned angel knew of her existence the better. Yet Sabrina had helped her, she couldn't repay that with ungratefulness and disrespect. However her innate magic was severely depleted, the magical gifts inherent through her bloodline denied her and her spell-craft skill set was rudimentary at best. What help could she offer? She was totally useless right now.

"I will help too, if I can, but I doubt I'll be much help" she admitted reluctently

Saraekiel nodded his head in greeting towards Ichabod, then again in acknowledgement at both Ben's and Kerr's words. Although at Ben's use of his title he guessed he had been reduced to a figurehead rather then a person in his eyes. he had done nothing but step wrong this evening and had mishandled their first meeting badly. However they had accepted his card and so maybe he would get a second chance to amend things between himself and Ben.

"Thank you, both of you. I shall await your call then"

With a few strong flaps of his wings he was suddenly airborne and hovered slightly above the small group and those others that were no gawking at him.

"I hope the rest of your evening is better then it has been so far. Good Night" he smiled at them before flapping his wings again and soared off into the night sky

Siobhan's eyebrows rose in shock and surprise at Wrens words.

"Wait. What do you mean a Leader in charge of us? Who? " As far as she was concerned the only person or people in charge of her was herself and maybe her Aunts. "as a witch I answer to myself and my family, or a Witch Queen if there was one, but they are no more" she finished softly with a slightly hesitant and uncertain tone.

She forehead furrowed slightly as she suddenly thought back to Flicks parting words. " Is this so called leader a wizard named Kerr? I have been told such a person has started a wizardry academy for vampires. Maybe they know Tess there"

Doubting he could remain in the shirt with just his head popping out he wriggled abit more till he could push his neck, shoulder and leg out to give himself more balance and leverage, he thought about clawing his other leg out too but was worroed that might be too much and he would end up toppling out of the shirt all together.

*This is extremely awkward and undignified to say the least* he huffed as he made himself as comfortable as possible, his tail trailing down Arutha's front, the tip brushing against the top of his pants.

*Where are we going to go my love? Do you think the motel is safe? Where did Kevla go? is she okay?*

The motel would no longer serve, they needed a new place to live.

At Arutha's question he stopped and thought. How long had he been calling him that? It meant My Love and he was but as magical as this moment was, admitting it, telling Arutha he loved him felt like trapping him. What if things didn't work out, if there was no end to this curse? Arutha deserved more then this half life. He deserved someone who could hold him and love him in the waking world not just in dreams.

"It doesn't exactly translate" he said softly, hating lying to him. If things changed he would tell him the truth, admit how he felt about him, but until then, Arutha didn't need that extra tie to him, that extra bond, when he had to walk away. " Roughly it means My Friend but with stronger meaning, like my close friend, special friend, that kind of thing"

He didn't want to think of the future though, he wanted to live in the now, to savour this moment, this magical miracle that had brought them together. There might not be another, especially if they couldn't find someone to help them.

"I am happy indeed you find me so amazing, for I find you doubly so. You are a rare and wondrous treasure Arutha Brooks with a soul as pure as any I have ever met." Unable to resist he reached up and lightly traced his finger of Arutha's lips, brushed the back of his fingers along his cheek bone, to his temple then trailed his fingertips back down and along his jawline; marveling at the feel of him, the beauty of him.

Smiling broadly he fell to his side amongst the shifting blue nothingness that was the floor of their dreamscape with his right arm tucked back beneath his head, his long hair falling behind him, he tapped the space beside him. " Join me? "

Shiobhan bowed her head and took a sip of her tea as Lacy started talking to Wren in what she guessed was Spanish. Even in her weakened state she could sense there was no malice meant by it. It was a way for two friends to speak privately among themselves in a mixed group without having to resort to whispering and or talking behind their hands.

When Wren replied in kind she cast her eyes around the table in the hopes of finding something to help her pass the time till Sabrina returned, her eyes falling instantly back to the tarot deck. She was about to reach for it when Wren spoke to her.

"Your card was The Hermit?" She asked softly, her tone was mildly curious but in her core she was shaking slightly "And your's was The High Priestess yeah?" she asked Lacy. "Maybe you could ask Sabrina to do a reading for you, using your cards I mean. It could be interesting"

Both of those cards had been showing up in her readings lately; those, and The Fool, The Magician, The Hierophant, The Star which at times was also Temperance plus a bunch of swords and wands, The Devil, Death and the upside down The Moon. Deciphering her own The Tower and the cards around that had been bad enough but the rest had just seemed like typical vague portent gibberish. Or maybe it hadn't been. She thought about saying something but changed her mind.

Hey I think your cards have shown up in my readings

Just sounded lame and pretentious, so instead she went with.

" I'm really sorry about your cat Wren, was it your familiar?" She flicked her gaze between them and bit her lip in hesitation before continuing. "And I'm really sorry about my behavior and lack of control at the cemetery too" Unable to meet their gaze any longer she looked down at the floor as she once again blushed in embarrassment.

Saraekiel was once again baffled by the emotions he was picking up from these two vampires. Kerr Galvin was livid and Ben, Ben was confused and afraid.

He quickly went over their conversation in his head and tried to look at it from their point of view. When he finally saw it he was amused and his lips twitched with that amusement. Zoheret was right, everything was about fucking with these creatures.

"Mr Samson, Mr Galvin. I think there has been a misunderstanding." Now he did smile, it was honest and open and richly amused.

"Allow me to allay both your fears and anger." he looked at Ben and smiled wryly. "I was not alluding to wanting to have intercourse with you Mr Samson. My interest in you is genuine and yes some of that is a physical attraction, a sensual one even. I admit I am drawn to you. I don't know why or what it even means, but intercourse?" He shook his head slightly "No. I am interested in you because you have a very innovative mind Ben." He turned his head and looked at Kerr fully. "And you Mr Galvin, most definitely interest me as well. You were the head of a supernatural collective that until recently ran this city. Yes that power was based mainly on the willing servitude of Mimic demons but still, you ran it and have managed to keep your head after it's fall. I suspect no one understands the political structure of this city better then you, and you are a survivor. Naturally I am interested in getting to know you. If I made you feel slighted, I assure you it was not my intention."

He looked at Ben again and offered a soft smile of reassurance. He was drawn to this young vampire and he didn't know why. Seeing him on that stage, baring his soul, only to watch Lazarus tear and hurt him some more had tugged at him in a way he hadn't felt in a very, very long time. He didn't want to scare him away..

"When I said I would love to converse with you more, I meant you both, when I said I could call on you sometime, I meant you both and when I challenged you to come to me, I Meant You Both."

He sighed heavily. Maybe trying to appeal to their human nature might turn this disaster of a meeting around. He should have waited, found a better time. But patience had never been one of his virtues, well, not generally anyway and those storm clouds proclaimed time was running out.

" I recently became the District Leader for the North. Leadership is not a power I ever wanted. I prefer my freedom, but alas due to Jake McClouds recent snatching of land and the creatures he murdered to obtain it, I came to the conclusion I would rather Rule then Serve. You two have managed to move amongst all the power houses of this city, you have wielded this kind of power, survived it and managed to keep yourselves relatively free from committing yourselves to any political party that currently claims to run the city yet have some kind of bond with all of them. There in lays my true interest" he shrugged then laughed softly, deprecatingly. " I am not a goodly, kind or overly patient creature and I think I might be over my head, but if I am to rule then I wish to do it well. I thought you two might have the best ideas on how. However I wanted a chance to get to know you both better, a chance for you to know me, before I took that step."

He reached into his right pants pocket and pulling out his wallet, he opened it and retrieves a business card containing his phone number and the address for ShadowHaven Estate. He placed the wallet back in his pocket and took a step towards them both.

" I have been more honest this night then I have ever been with anyone outside of my most immediate circle" He offered them the card. " I still want that chance."

He arched an eyebrow and smiled with honest amusement. "That's the second time someone has suggested Dark Angels should become part of your academies curriculum”. He had no intentions of teaching or talking about Angels to a ragtag bunch of lesser supernaturals; no matter how cute Ben Samson was or how much he strangely drawn to him. However, supporting the academy in other ways would also be good for promoting him as a District leader who believed in species equality and inclusivity.” Your approach was much slicker” He narrowed his eyes slightly as he pretended to think about it. “I will think on it. But I doubt there would be much interest in a subject on my kind. It will be interesting to see if you can convince me otherwise. “

He slid his hands into his pockets and looked at Ben with interest. “I also like that you find me fascinating” His eyes danced over Ben from head to toe and back again. When they met Bens stunning blue eyes once more, they were filled with mischievously wicked and open admiration. “I find you more than a little interesting myself Ben Samson. I think you are a person worth knowing, worth getting to know, a person of worth.”

He felt the turmoil and emotional upheaval building in the theater rising, bursting outwards. Their alone time would shortly be over.

“However, as I said this is not the most opportune time and I am sure you and Kerr would like to get away from here as quickly as possible. I would love to converse with you more. If you like I could call on you some other time when things are a little more settled.”

He dropped his glamour allowing his wings to appear behind him. He stretched them a little, enjoying the feel of the wind rushing through them before snapping them close again.

“Or you could come to me.” He said with a hint of challenge and daring.

Shiobhan watched in awe as he changed once again in front of her and wondered if it hurt. It certainly looked and sounded like it did, albeit the change was quick so maybe the pain was too.

She laughed as he licked her and tried to give him a hug goodbye but he was as quick as moonlight and just as hard to hold. Once he was gone she got wearliy to her feet and collected all her belongs and made her way home.

It was only as she turned her door handle did she realize what Flick said, where he said she could find him.

"A wizard school for vampires?" How many vampires were there that they needed a school...and wizardry? What powers could they learn and who was the wizard Kerr?

She placed her keys in the empty fruit bowl on the table near the back door and slowly made her way up the stairs for a quick shower and even quicker sleep before she had to open the shop.

If Flick lived near a wizard school then she needed to seriously start practicing her craft if she was going to go visit him. Which she had every intention of doing.

He smiled with satisfaction as she jerked away from him, there and quickly gone. Her fluted wings, the shocked gasp filled with honest and gut deep pleasure, the sudden uncontrolled jerk towards him, and the involuntary clutching at his chest and collar, proved her first and obviously orchestrated gasp for what it was, a lie. He didn’t mind, not at all, it was all part of the game, and he had just won the first round. She obviously wasn’t finished playing this particular game though as she was still straddling him, still so very close, still pinning him to the chair. Her lips were just a breath away, as red, inviting and as dangerous as an apple in Eden. He wanted to taste them, to nibble and taste that forbidden fruit but doing so now would only give the lead in this little side game of theirs back to her. If she wanted to continue the game, he would play; most assuredly as his arousal was real; as was hers but, if she wanted it to progress further than she would have to come to him.

He pulled away from her slightly, leaning back in the chair, his eyes filled with desire but fully away of the game they played and where they stood in it.

He was also aware he was doing exactly what she demanded. Telling her the how’s, the when’s, the why’s. It irked him, this feeling as if he needed to answer to someone, to seek their approval, their permission as if he belonged to them, submissive to them. he understood she needed to know whether he was worth backing, worth working with but what exactly did she want?  Was she looking for a guarantee? A sure bet? Eternity and life held no guarantees. There was him or there was her, alone, holding onto her position by kissing vampire ass, by kneeling at their feet, waiting for them to allow her to keep her power or take it away as they chose. Surely she must see that they were stronger together then apart, but he understood…she needed more if she was to risk what she already had.

He picked up his scotch and took a sip, his grey eyes watching her from over the rim. They were narrowed slightly as he thought on how best to answer, but they also gleamed with challenge, a knowing, self-satisfied awareness that he had caused her to respond so sensually, so uncontrollably so genuinely to his touch.

“I’m not going to kill them or force them. Doing so would only make them rebel, make me no better than that filthy undead upstart, nor do I have any leverage or information to use as a leash” He shook his head slightly, his hair shifting around his face with the movement. He really wanted to get up off of his wings, to ruffle them, open then, stretch them. He hated been trapped in the chair but that too was part of the game, the forced discomfort, the restraining of him. It added another flavor to his arousal, another edge to this mild, sensual, battle of wills.

“I have nothing but the reality of the situation. I will simply point out the truth. The city is in turmoil and the territories are obviously up for grabs proven by Jake’s murderous land grab. They have no-one to stand up to him if he decides to take the north and as Jake as their District leader they were most likely as good as dead, that, or neutered, collared and caged.".

He placed the drink back on the table beside him and continued

“I will point out that their former leader has betrayed them by abandoning them, left them weak, too weak to take their territory back. If they weren’t, they would have done it already. Their former leaders’ abandonment has allowed them to be slowly hunted down and killed.” He smiled sharply

“ I will make it clear, their choices ere simple; Jake, demons…or me. I at least will let them live in peace, let them regroup, grow strong. I am not interested in running or taking over their pack, but I will offer them and the northern territory community security, and all they need do to get it is support my claim as their District Leader, to stand behind me and answer my call if and when I need them.”

In a way it was the same deal he was making with her. Work with him, work together. Who else did she have to watch her back? To guard her flank? Who else could she trust…be herself with?
