She allowed his words to filter through her subconscious harmlessly, moaning an affirmative \'Mmhmm,\' type sound when he talked about settlements and replenishing supplies.  It sounded very exotic and she was imagining what sorts of places they\'d see and what beds they\'d experience when he told her she was a bit off.  She pulled back immediately then, pouting huffily at him.

"I am tired, but I\'m no different to usual," she told him, moving her hand onto his hip in order to support herself better, honestly believing what she was saying.  She gave a beleaguered sigh and flopped down onto the bed beside him then, some part of her seeing reason, despite her arguments (and fully supporting the notion that she was too tired to know exactly what she was doing).  "Fine.  We\'ll go to sleep and talk some more about this in the morning," she told him airily, deliberately keeping her hands to herself to support her offended act (which wasn\'t all that convincing, since she really wasn\'t and her eyes drooped closed as soon as she\'d decided to have a go at slumber).  Also, her lower half was still entwined with his.

Almost immediately, however, she raised herself up, leaned over and gave him another kiss, feeling it improper to embrace sleep without a definite farewell.  "Night then, Beautiful," she yawned, then fell down onto her back once more.  Erratic she was, malicious she wasn\'t.

Kerr nodded dazedly, trying his hardest to overcome the pull of the Ancient, wondering at it all the while.  It baffled him why the feeling of such age should humble him so utterly - he\'d never been one to follow authority blindly, but he did have a certain amount of respect for it, could that be it? - and could only shake his head at how tied up his thoughts suddenly became when gazing upon Lazarus.  It wasn\'t a sexual attraction per se, it was just... an awe attraction or something equally as inconclusive.

He blinked, when he realised that the other vampire was talking about his date and it made Kerr aware that he wasn\'t part of that plan.  "Oh!  I\'m sorry!  I didn\'t mean to interfere!" he cried earnestly, getting to his feet but finding his back bent forward so that the level of his head didn\'t exceed Lazarus\' and make him feel dwarfed.  "I\'ll get out of your way," he promised with a final bow of acquiesence, not even stopping to think that he\'d been in the gazebo first and that the couple had intruded on his quiet time.

She giggled again, nibbling kisses along his jaw and towards his throat, her hand staying in the exact same region - but being far friendlier than it had been with the cheeky squeeze manoeuvre.  She petted gently at him instead.

"Yes, I\'m a bit tired, I\'ll admit it, but I think you\'re just using it as an excuse to escape me," she murmured, lips reaching his throat.  "You just don\'t want to acknowledge how dangerous it will be to team us up on a long journey where we\'ll need plenty of food, when we both readily admit that we can\'t cook worth a damn!"

She chuckled some more, not really paying attention to what she was saying, being far more focussed on the feel of him against her and what he was saying.  She found him and his shyness endlessly endearing.

Kerr smiled appreciatively as he rose slowly to sit on the bench seat by Craig.  He didn\'t notice that he was pressed beyond the distance of politeness, as his attention was on Lazarus.  "Thank you," he murmured, grateful for being instructed to get off his knees - almost as impressed by the sly reference to him worshipping the Ancient sexually as he was amused by it - and told that he was worthy of a seat.  He took that to mean he was deemed important enough to be in the other vampire\'s presence altogether.

"It\'s a shame, though," he added, an edge of bitterness tingeing his voice.  "Things were a lot better before the Oligarchy came along; the city could do with your interference, really."  He spoke respectfully, quietly... wishfully.  His life would certainly be a lot different now, if Lazarus hadn\'t abandoned the city to be taken over by the Luminary and his subjects.

Dustin gave him an indulgent smile, his gaze on the far taller man lingering because he wanted to be sure the expression got looked at, so he paused until he had eye contact. This meant that there were a few moments where he could simply stare because he was expecting to be found looking. They were quite happy, intense moments, too; where a rush of confused thoughts and emotions about Delmer raced through him, the Scot\'s beautiful looks having an effect Dustin was finding difficult to pin down - though he was rather timid about doing so. Being afraid of what emotion he was experiencing when he finally had it nailed beneath his scrutiny was what kept the notion vague.

"Wouldn\'t be much of a walk for the dog if I drove here, would it?" he grinned, when he caught the other man\'s eye. "I live about five blocks that way," he added, nodding his head in northeasterly direction, angled away from the sea. He lived about five blocks diagonally, but since he and Andii always cut through the industrial type areas they passed, it never seemed too far. "It\'s about a twenty minute walk," he shrugged, "and that reminds me."

Dustin lifted the leash he held in his hand and then came to a halt, casting an apologetic look towards Delmer before he bent down and called the dog to reattach her leash to her wet leather collar. As usual, she had walking associations with this action and she started barking excitedly, ignoring the fact that she\'d just walked up and down the beach for half an hour - and got saturated for her trouble - believing she was going for a walk now and ecstatic at the thought. "Stupid dog," Dustin muttered beneath his breath, trying to hold the energetic ball of black and white in place long enough to clip the leash on.

He stood up shaking his head when it was finally done, then continued walking across the car park. He knew he should add something to the conversation but for some reason was hypersensitively aware of the fact that Delmer\'s hand had been removed from his lower back when he\'d bent down... and he wanted to know whether it would return. There\'d been no real reason for it to go there in the first place, as far as he could recall, except that the Scot had wanted to, of course. Theoretically then, it would return soon. He was nearly breathless with the anticipation of it.

Hamish frowned against the warm flesh he was kissing - well, really, he\'d begun sucking more than kissing, drawing blood to the surface of Liam\'s flesh in a manner that he\'d learned was a delightful turn on, at times when he was wanting to toy with his food, rather than get straight to the drinking - and eventually lifted his head. Automatically, he glanced at the two hickies he\'d left on the mortal flesh (either side of the artery he was intending to pierce) and then up to the hunter\'s dark eyes.

"Worship me?" he asked stupidly, finally getting an inkling of the amount of control he had in this situation. "You\'d worship me?" he added cautiously, unsure about what the words meant.  The implications were... arousing, though.

Stupid, stupid. You don\'t need a fuckin\' hunter worshipping you, not if you\'re serious about getting this bullshit over with, you need him hating you, fuckin\' bite him, bitch, do it, get it over and done
But still... worship
And what\'s that? On your knees, on his knees? You\'re a fuckin\' fool to think
But I could use it
How? What good would it do?
I could make him do what I wanted
And then what? Keep him on a leash and tie him up and make him suck your
Tie him up and drink from his
JUST fucking FORGET it!
... no.

"Me?  Why?" he asked, because he couldn\'t resist. He wanted to know. This was new and exciting, having someone worship you was not something that you stumbled upon every day. Especially someone that was your sworn enemy. Why, indeed.

She blinked and frowned slightly at him, wondering if he had actually answered the questions she\'d asked and she was just too tired to understand him, or whether he was off on some tangent again (realistically, he often was... and his natural propensity for such was only augmented by his tiredness at this point, she supposed). After a moment\'s thought, she decided it was more a lateral answer than a tangent.

"Right; so I gather that means that no, Matthew won\'t be needed because we\'ll risk our own cooking and survive - dismally, I don\'t doubt - on hunted fare until we reach our destination," she said, her voice taking on a mocking grandness, before she grinned at him and kissed the tip of his nose. "I\'d propose that you and your body are enough to sustain me, but I think you might... argue?" she giggled, reaching between them and giving his flaccid member a playful squeeze, her eyes dancing.

It occurred to her, on a distant level, that she was getting very giggly and silly and that certainly meant that she was tired, but the false vibration of energy she was running on didn\'t allow for her to back off. He was likely going to be offended before she figured it out, because she was feeling too good to put a lot of thought into it. He felt really good, too...

Kerr laughed appreciatively at Arles\' comment about a collar and tag and wanted to answer the distance question (for Sawyl had left the city a while back and his instincts had only been able to give him a vague direction in which to head but very little other information) but the blonde continued speaking and then it just didn\'t seem to matter.  When Ben\'s thought reached him, it spurred him into action, though.

"I don\'t know about all night, but we\'d just decided we\'re going to need another so... stay here and I\'ll go get us something," he advised, gaze switching from Arles to Ben and back again, giving the former a nod as he turned and left the little room.  It didn\'t occur to him that he should have said someone instead of something, he was too intent on heading out.  Apart from the fact that, again, he felt vaguely as if he was interfering between Ben and Arles, he didn\'t want them to lose their room - which they likely would if they all vacated.  He would return when he\'d found a new donor... or two.  Ben would likely want more and one wouldn\'t be enough for three.

Kerr blinked in startlement and stared - quite agog - as the Ancient and his friend entered the gazebo.  He really couldn\'t find a word to say in the whole time that the gregarious blonde spoke (though his mouth dropped open in awe, when the sheer power of the other swelled towards him) but when the hand came his way, instinct took over yet again.

He grabbed it in both of his hands and dropped gracefully to one knee (before Craig, unfortunately, but that didn\'t faze the vampire) while he pressed his lips reverently to the cold flesh.  He virtually tingled with the thrum of age and strength before him, the greatness of the other being an instinctual thing that humbled him to the core.

"Lazarus," he breathed, eventually prying his lips off the other\'s hand and looking up with worshipping eyes.  "I... it\'s been so long, I thought you... I heard... well, how are you?"  It felt stupid and almost rude to say such meaningless things to one so long-lived, but his senses were overpowering his brain functioning at that precise moment, and it was the best he could do.

She laughed heartily, snuggling close and pressing her left leg between his as she wrapped her arm about him and gave him a brief kiss. Her pillow was dragged over a little too, as she wanted to be as close to him as possible. The fire\'s light was dimming now, as if on cue, and she felt comfortable pressed against him while they fell asleep; she\'d always been a \'toucher\' if she was in bed with someone and had always fallen into the same spooning position whenever she got to spend the night with Dagger (not that that had happened all that often, really).

"Oh, you know I haven\'t developed an aversion to food - doesn\'t matter who prepares it or how horrid it tastes. And if you think you cook badly, at least you\'ve tried cooking," she grinned, raising her eyebrows pertinently at Kysis. Of course, whenever she camped, she killed animals and was an expert at skinning, gutting and spitting meat, but beyond throwing a collection of vegetables Matthew had supplied (badly cut by her) into a pot of boiling water, she wasn\'t much of a cook, herself. "And of course Matthew will come to your house with me; is there somewhere for him to sleep, if he wishes to stay too?"

Lam wanted to cringe as soon as the question was voiced, for it sounded quite like she was trying to merge her household with his, already. Really though, she couldn\'t see the point in staying at the mansion over her place if she was supplying everything. The only difference would be the location - though she did feel that that was exciting enough to warrant the upheaval. Kysis had made noises about getting a new bed already, dropped some hints... she wondered when it would arrive (she also wondered what it would be like to sleep in, for Dagger had commissioned her mattress long ago, when he found an excellent craftsman, and their mattresses therefore were exactly the same, meaning the same night\'s sleep was got in both - or lack thereof, as the case was generally wont to be).

Alia and Rico wouldn\'t be gone very long and if they wanted to fool around in all the rooms (as she\'d joked they would) and they\'d still have to avoid guards walking in on them. Lam doubted that Kysis would have the balls to go through with such a wild act, even once - she\'d managed to convince him to sleep naked but she simply couldn\'t imagine him flouncing about the mansion in his birth day suit, putting his cute ass out there for anyone who walked into, say, the dining room to see, clenching between her legs as he thrust in and out of her - but she was happy with the challenge laid down. He would no doubt need to keep taking little steps in such an area; especially since she suspected that proposing they move out of a bedroom might cause him to break into a nervous rash or something. His room - with a bigger bed - would be enough for the time being.

She gasped then, and changed the subject slightly - as tired people often do. "That doesn\'t bode well for our trip to Kreos, does it?" she mused with another giggle. "Do you think I should take Matthew with us there, too?" She was half serious, wondering if her servant would like a life-altering journey to a new country as well, but it made even Lam uncomfortable to think about Matthew sleeping in a tent near theirs and... listening. He could ignore a lot with a house between them but with some flimsy canvas? Not likely. Besides, she was already looking forward to the time alone with Kysis.

"Mmm," Kerr mused, looking at Arles\' shoulder in preoccupied rumination, pulling his hand back (subtly, he thought) from the elder when Ben made his very ordinary entrance, exclaiming over extraordinary things.  Kerr was on his feet a moment later, trying not to look guilty and smiling benignly.

"What was?" he asked, though he was pretty sure he knew.  He\'d felt Ben\'s surprise just as he\'d felt Ben\'s... everything... so he believed the fledgling was talking about the fact that he\'d walked immediately into the room where his sires were.  Still, he\'d just had his first feeding and caring of a mortal session, so who knew if his exclamation had something to do with a point that had come up there, instead?

When he swivelled and tucked his legs back under the covers, Lam took it as her cue to move also.  She shuffled away from him (not very far) and went back to her side of the bed, curled on her right side and facing him, head resting on her pillow and her right arm beneath that.  Her left hand kept contact with him as she watched him with a slight smile.

His confessing that he wanted to do the trip with just her had filled her with contentment and brought about the smile, leaving her in no uncertain mind any longer.  He really was just concerned about his sister and likely stressed about her imminent travel.  Theirs... he wasn\'t so worried about at all.

"Verdict means decision; what\'s your decision, I meant," she told him softly, toying with his hip, encouraging him to lay beside her again.  "And when they get back is fine; I\'ll need time to get organised anyway.  Plus... there was that promise that I\'d get some time spent at your place while they were gone," she grinned meaningfully.

"Oh," Lam murmured politely, the rest of her comment drying up very suddenly on her tongue. She\'d been intending to ask how long Mia had worked there and continue along the harmless chatter lines, but instead she\'d met Dagger\'s gaze and was swallowed up by what she read there. Her body responded instantly - how many years and over how many silent dinners in front of an ignorant audience had they been exchanging such looks, anyway? Too many... enough that her system knew by instinct just how hard and passionately they would come together, as soon as they were alone, at any rate - and she looked unseeingly down at her lap in an effort to break his spell.

She swallowed the liquid that gushed into her mouth, wishing he didn\'t make her salivate so easily, wishing he didn\'t have this hold on her that wouldn\'t die, no matter how long they were apart. Kysis... she had to think of Kysis, damnit... not Dagger\'s knowledgable hands roving her body, shoving her down onto carriage seats, into secretive cupboards or empty rooms, tearing clothing in mutual haste and then gripping her thighs while he slid in...

"Shit," she swore softly, not realising she\'d said it out loud as she took a shaky breath and closed her eyes, needing a moment to regain her equilibrium. Mia entered the room just after the word left her lips, but Lam barely noticed.  If the thought of Kysis wasn\'t working to combat Dagger\'s pull (and a month with one man didn\'t seem to have a hope in measuring up to twelve years with another), then she\'d just have to keep focussed on why she was there... she just wished she could remember what that damn reason was, because it had suddenly flown right out of her head at about the time the sensual Dagger memories chose to invade.

She didn\'t look up, even though Mia was in the room - though she glanced sideways at the food that was set down and listened to the girl\'s sweet voice almost like it was a life line that might save her. She didn\'t want her to go, suddenly... but she did, too. She merely looked back at her thigh instead, blinking rapidly and trying desperately to think.

Old Roleplays / Seeking Distraction
« on: March 15, 2007, 07:14:41 AM »
Once again, Kerr found himself in the park.  It was only when he sighted the gazebo that he really began to take notice of where he was, and a frown cinched his brow.  There were too many memories involved in the pretty, flora-drenched structure, he knew he should avoid it... but he found himself heading there anyway.  The memories of Mandy and the skittish Nightmare he\'d met rose, followed swiftly and overpoweringly by the image of the demon that had come to collect them.  Here.  Taken them to the Chambers and punished him for crimes he\'d committed in ignorance.

Months later, it still burned, even though the secretive knowledge of Ben was firmly within his grasp at last.  His fledgling now, since four nights before... his and Arles\'.  They were together tonight, he supposed; he hadn\'t quite figured out how to pursue contact with Ben after they\'d last sighted one another, the night after the siring.  It felt like he belonged more to Arles than to him, which was fine - it was the only argument that had appeased Sawyl in the slightest, anyway.

His sire had flown into a rage when he\'d returned the night after, his mind read swiftly and prompting the flare of emotion.  The twins, surprisingly, were more intrigued than appalled by Ben\'s ushering into the undead world by Kerr, and though they hadn\'t said much (when Sawyl flew into their room with a dramatic howl of anguish that he\'d been forsaken), they\'d been... curious.  When near them - even though he was doing his best to speak to Wyl and convince him rationally that having another fledgling was a ridiculous thing to be upset about (his patience had worn thin long before then) - his thoughts had been all about how he\'d had to block Ben\'s mental abilities at Risk.  The twins hadn\'t been subtle about their interest on that score, at least.

Sawyl still wasn\'t speaking to him.  That was fine by Kerr, except for the fact that the little bastard was insisting on hanging around the house, waiting for Ben to come and visit so that he could have a piece of him too.  His mothers were remaining relatively neutral, in that they never really spoke to him without Sawyl\'s prompting anyway, but whenever he passed their suite, always there were thoughst of Ben and his mental communication capabilities rising in his mind.

It was enough to drive Kerr batty - or outdoors, at the least.  He didn\'t want to intrude at the beach house and he was fucking sick of Sawyl\'s frosty glares and tempestuous room exits, so... he\'d gone for a walk.  The park was where he was currently, but he\'d been all sorts of places, luxuriating in the ability to think whatever the fuck he wanted and not have to worry that someone that meant too much to him would interpret it as some strange slight against them, or he\'d offend someone.

No, freedom was good... though it was a little bit quiet.  Distracted by his thoughts, he sat in the gazebo and stared blankly out at the park, his back slumped against the lattice work behind him, cushioned by the thick plantlife that wasn\'t really thriving in this season, but was there and slumbering until such time as the weather called it back to life.  He was wearing black jeans, sneakers and a maroon woollen jumper with a high neck - a lot more casually-dressed than he normally would have been, to exit the house, but this had been a spur-of-the-moment decision.  As soon as Sawyl had left the ground floor to talk with his mothers, Kerr had simply walked out of the house and kept on going.

Now, he sat in silence, hands clasped loosely together between his splayed thighs, biting gently on his tongue stud and simply staring into space.
