This apartment is a small place and doesn’t feel much like a home; the furniture is ordinrary with some of it second-hand and the rest is cheap flat-pack.
The apartment enters into the main living area which extends into an open plan dining and kitchen. There are a some posters on the walls for colour and personality. Personal photos line a shelf on the bookcase which is otherwise packed with second-hand books, picked up for a dollar or two at various charity shops. A battered coffee table sits in front of a fold out futon sofa, it's only benefit that it is long enough to lie down on comfortably. There’s a small TV in the corner of the room sitting upon a wooden crate.
The kitchen is a standard galley with a small sink and limited bench space and the large fridge whirrs and clunks.
Off the main room are two doors on the right. One leads to a small bathroom which only just fits in a toilet, basin and shower cubicle. High shelves above the toilet offer some storage as well as a small cupboard beneath the sink. The shower cubicle has a hanging shelf for soap and bottles to be kept off the floor.
The other door leads to the bedroom. A double bed fits in there with one bedside table on the side opposite the a double wardrobe, which is fitted along the left side of the room.
The whole apartment has a dark and worn down appearance and could do with some love and affection. The owner has made an attempt with a few standing lamps, but they can't quite chase the shadows away.
