Broken Wheel Tavern
« on: January 27, 2006, 12:39:05 AM »
The building sits at the edge of a cornfield, nested close to the castle, but outside of its protective walls. This does not mean that the clientele is rough, however, for they are mostly the farmers that work the land and want a quiet drink. The tavern is accessible to all those who live near and around Oberon, and the feel of the place is nothing short of neighbourly and friendly.

Upon entering the brick, mud and wood structure, there is a short step up onto floorboards stained by many a spilt ale from a happy drunkard\'s cup.
In the corner farthest the door is the bar itself, running most of the course of the entire wall, stopping short of a small stage where some chairs are gathered for performing minstrels who wish to sing and play for loose change (enough to hopefully give them enough for a hot meal and a warm drink).

There are many chairs of various description - stools with and without backs, short chairs without arms, some with, some with wide seats, others narrow - but every table is made from the wheel of a cart, planked over - hence the namesake.

The walls are decorated with simple tapestries of farming scenes, and it is plain to see that this tavern leans towards the worship of Adora, from the autumnal colours used to the paintings and statuettes of the goddess discreetly placed upon shelves and atop cupboards. It isn\'t so strange though, that this tavern appreciates Adora so, due to it being customed largely by the farming community.

The tavern staff are efficient and because they are paid well (due to a booming business), service comes with a smile.
There are no rooms for rent, it merely is a kitchen, a bar, a place to eat and drink, make friends, and stumble off home.
