LINKING: Signatures & Roleplays
« on: August 03, 2006, 08:25:46 AM »
I feel stupid not knowing this but I\'m confused so I\'m asking. I\'ve read Satyr\'s post on how to put your character\'s name in your signature and I did exactly what it said easily, but while everyone else has the name of their character, I just have the whole link.

How do I get the names of my character\'s as the links in my signature?

1. When you have the page open with your roleplay or character in it,highlight and  copy the line in the browser that looks like this

http://www.roleplaycity.com/forum

(only your thread will have numbers and things at the end)

2. Go to New Roleplays, advertise the link, highlight the word or words that you want to be a link (like; 'join me now' or 'click this link')  OR  Go to your signature and highlight the name the sheet belongs to.

3. Above the row of smileys, there's a bunch of buttons.  You want to press the button of a blue circle/world with a page.  Hover your mouse over it, and it will say 'Insert HyperLink'.

4. Press it and around your highlighted word the code 'URL' and 'URL' (in the brackets)  You must put in an = symbol after the first URL and then your pasted link, so it looks like this:

(URL= http://www.roleplaycity.com/forum) Linked Word(/URL)

take note that you would have square brackets around the URL codes, and no spaces, I can't show this code properly as a help file unless I put in parenthesis instead.
