What A Wonder
« on: August 31, 2011, 12:16:21 AM »
The bar had been getting a bit stiff. Lisa-Joe did love the chaos, but only up to a point. She was also a cultured creature, and that required occasional pampering. An art gallery was the perfect place to escape for an evening, and Lisa-Joe did love art so very much. She stood in front of a new sculpture, and ran her fingers along it\'s cold stone. The piece was a recreation of a Greek female nude. The subject had been young, Lisa-Joe guessed around twenty, when the statue had been made. Her long hair glided along her curved back, and her delicate hands placed themselves on her tiny waist. Lisa-Joe liked this statue, for it was a testimonial to the beauty of women. A large mirror rested on the wall behind the sculpture, and in it, Lisa-Joe checked her reflection.

Her hair had been curled for the night, and she\'d taken the time to apply sufficient makeup, which when your job is owning a bar you sometimes forget to do. A simple black dress was all that was on her body. She\'d worn flats, due to the discomfort she got from heels, but despite this minor detail, Lisa-Joe thought she looked as put together as she could have been for going to an art gallery. She removed her hand from the sculpture, and placed at her side. She continued to look on at the female in question, wishing she was real. Her eyes drifted on, and had she not been spoken too, she may have stared until the museum closed.
Be a sadist. Now matter how sweet and innocent your leading characters, make awful things happen to them — in order that the reader may see what they are made of.
