Arutha couldn\'t help but smile a little as the black feline made himself happily at home on his lap with a purr. The other was just too adorable not to. It was only to start to frown again at the cat\'s description and then the odd sudden shimmer of the collar.

"Alex...Kitty!" Kevla cried out in alarm just as she was the once happy looking feline have what looked like a sudden seizure before passing out. What the hell was going on? And what was that strange light on the cat\'s collar before it happened?

"Don\'t panic, Kevla." Her twin said steadily, even though he was just as worried and startled as his sister was if not more so. At the same time he gently pressed a couple fingers onto the cat\'s chest to attempt and check if he was still alive or not.

"He\'s okay...whatever happened knocked him out." Arutha said softly as he very gently pet the brave cat. His best guess as to what had happened linked both the strange collar he had and what the other had been trying to explain to them. It would simply be too much of a coincedance to think otherwise.

"I\'m going to go take him back home. So if you don\'t have any compliants about this could you get the bill?" he asked.

Kevla nodded at that in relief. She was just glad that the cat was alright after all that had happened, "Sure I\'ll get it."

(( Take it back to your place and we\'ll continue from there))

Naoise floated in and out of consciousness, the collar constantly fighting him to keep him there. It was an old battle and one the collar used when Naoise was close to bonding with someone. The intelligence of the collar was a simple thing. It existed simply to make its wearer suffer and since it knew it was stuck on Naoise for what was apparently turning into eternity it planned to make him suffer for it every step of the way. Naoise was the first of its kind it had been attached to. It had lost masters before and so to be free it had simply killed its wearer. Usually by knocking them out at a crucial time like in a middle of a live and death situation. But Naoise could not be killed. It had tried many a times but the cat just reformed with it around him. It was trapped as surely as Naoise was trapped, but unlike Naoise it could not bond with a new master, not unless it was free. Naoise on the other hand was free to attach himself to whom ever he wished, so out of spite the collar did all he could to discourage such things.

Naoise felt himself being carried and heard Arutha talking to him softly. He couldn’t make out what was being said but he at least knew he was safe for the time being and hopefully they were heading away from the boardwalk. y this time it must be full dark and he didn\'t want arutha and his sister to get cought outside at night; he couldn\'t help but wonder if Arutha and his siser knew what kind of city they were living in and damn the collar for taking him out again. The last time he had been knocked out this badly he had been in the middle of a fight with a couple of vamps. Usually vamps didn’t do animals but apparently Naoise’s blood stank of magic and so the feasted on him till they thought he was dead. Imagine their surprise and glee when after just a few minutes he awoke, his body once again thrumming with blood and magic. He became the snack cat for 20 years until some good Samaritans wiped them out. Goddess, how he hated Vampires.

He tried to reach out to Arutha’s mind and manage to brush against it now and then, only t be re-sucked down int darkness. He yelled in frustration as he succumbed once more. He was sure he could bond mentally with Arutha, to be able to talk to him mind to mind. He had the talent, his mind actually had the potential to do a lot of things, nit just telekinesis. He retreated into his mind, to a castle of fortitude he had built to escape the pain of the collar, at least in this dark section of his mind he could appear human, here he was free from the collar and the shape of a cat. He closed his green eyes and enjoyed the feel of being human once more. The collar would get bored soon enough and he would wake up. For now he may as well just sit back and wait the damned collar out.
