Nymphs (4 Types)

Nymphs

Class:  Fae

Appearance:
They resemble humans exactly but their hair and eyes are usually of the colours that implies their element.

* Fire Nymphs – Bright red hair, amber eyes
* Water Nymphs – Light blue hair, blue-green or blue eyes
* Earth Nymphs – Brown hair, green, brown or hazel eyes
* Air Nymphs - White hair, light blue eyes

Most nymphs follow this colouring, but there's a chance - if they have another species parent - that their colouring will be different. It's rarer but not unheard of.

Aging:
Lifespan is almost exactly that of a human

Current Understanding:
A nymph has a natural magic over the elements around them.  Usually blending in perfectly with human society, these beings usually come from small towns, villages and other isolated areas.

Lifestyles and Magics:
It is not unusual for a water nymph to have been raised by their small family (for all nymph families are small) on a yacht, or a houseboat.  They drink a lot of water, enjoy swimming and are often near the beach or have hobbies around watersport activities.  They can cause a wave in a normal drinking glass, or make it rain upward, among other things.

Fire nymphs tend to have grown up or seek out hot weather climates, and can survive in arid places such as deserts quite well.  Hot and spicy foods are their delight.  Usually nimble and quick-footed (for fire is fast), their magic entwines their element in many ways.

Air nymphs are very good climbers, both socially and phsyically.  They have natural charisma and are quite graceful when they move about.  Air nymphs are natural dancers.  They can bring a strong gust so furious that it can knock people off their feet, or a small breeze on a hot day to relieve them.

Earth nymphs are the typical green-thumb nature-buff that likes the great outdoors and can make any plant grow even out of season.  Usually from farming backgrounds, these nymphs like to live close to the ground and appreciate the rewards that the earth bears for them and tend to be vegetarian (but not always).  Their power involves moving the ground to cause tremors or they can burrow caves and underground tunnels at an amazing rate.

Nymphs and other Nymphs:
There is no fast rule about who will win a battle over who, though should a number of various elemental nymphs join forces, they\'d sweep up the city with their combined powers.  The problem is, nymphs can\'t stand sight of nymphs with a power other than their own.

Nymphs and Other Species:

If a nymph pairs up with a human, the child will always be a Nymph because of the dominant DNA.  There are no half-human half-nymphs.  Nymphs can be turned into vampires, though they will lose their magic if such a thing happens.  They are much like humankind, not knowing about other species except they know of humankind and their own.

Vampire Interaction
Nymph blood has a tendency to get vampires high. The high will stay with the vampire until the blood is circulated out of their system. The flavour profile of a nymph depends on their element:
  • Fire Nymphs have a sweet and spicy flavouring to their blood
  • Water Nymph blood tastes a little saltier than others
  • Earth Nymph blood has a woody undercurrent, like wine in an oak barrell
  • Air Nymph blood has a stronger metallic flavouring
