Kysis Dinaris
« on: March 30, 2008, 11:42:25 AM »
Name: Kysis Dinaris
Supposedly Kysis means "Of Light" in an ancient, long dead language, though Kysis has yet to confirm this.  The Dinaris family was very important in Tel\'evin before its fall, as it was one of the founding households and had strong ties to the knighthood.

Gender: Male

Age (actual and appearance): 23

Race: Human

Class: Paladin.  He was known in his homeland as the ‘Light Bringer’ for the good deeds he has done since the fall of Tel\'evin.

Alignment: Lawful Good.  He is not swayed by money or politics, weighing all the evidence evenly and without bias, choosing the side which is truly right and siding with it, even if his fellows disagree.  Kysis will follow his heart, which has always proven true to this point.

Deity: Heironeous, the god of chivalry and honor and bravery.  His paladin order follows such a god.

Appearance

>Hair: his hair is blond, light in tones and straight.  He keeps it relatively short, though not too much so.  If he has a choice in the matter, he will keep in absolutely clean and is almost religious about this.

>Eyes: though one might have described his eyes as sapphire blue at one time, they have dulled, looking grayish ever since his home-town of Tel’evin was destroyed.

>Skin: he has a very light tan despite how much time he spends outside.  Kysis hardly understands the phenomenon.  It almost makes him look unhealthy.

>Height: Five feet and ten inches.

>Build: he is at the threshold between strength and agility, keeping himself so in order not to sacrifice one for the other.  Kysis uses his speed and quickness of dodging more than strength, preferring finesse to brute strength any day.

Personality: Kysis used to be full of hope, cheerful and uplifting.  And then his home, Tel’evin, was destroyed.  That was when he became a Paladin, swearing to destroy the evil slavers who decimated his home.  He has never given up on that mission, even though it has made him dark, brooding and curt.  That life and bounce to his step was sucked out.  When weak and at a disadvantage, he often becomes verbally combative and has started to be somewhat cynical of late.

Sexuality: As a paladin, it is not so odd to be celibate, and he has remained such, not indulging himself in the pleasures of the flesh while he has a greater mission to achieve.  Though his order frowns upon men who lay with other men, Kysis does not see a problem with it, though he doubts he would even do so.  Thus far, this has not been tested.

History: Kysis was born and raised in the city of Tel’evin, showing a natural talent for magic as a child.  He studied at the local branch of the magery sect in his town, a promising student, jumping ahead levels without any issue.  When Tel’evin was attacked, Kysis barely survived and his path was forever changed.  He sought refuge in a monastery and the monks within trained him and became his patrons so he could become a knight and a paladin, serving good from then on.  The slaughter at Tel’evin still haunts his dreams.  Kysis is driven.  He will not give up.

Recently, he was ambushed by a group of slavers, and overwhelmed by their numbers, taken captive.  They plan to sell him in the markets of Thorrian, and took all of his equipment as well.

Skills:

>Concentration: this was a remnant of his days in the realm of magic.  His concentration has faded some over the years, but he can still cast a spell in a clench.  His overall concentration as good, and he always keeps on topic.

>Diplomacy: it is a must for every Paladin.  Paladins are charismatic by nature, and this only puts it to use.

>Heal: he knows how to use the herbs around to help make salves for wounds.  It is helpful for a paladin on the battlefield.  He also has some healing ability through spells which was fostered by his training as a paladin.

>Intimidate: another natural for a Paladin.  Kysis is good at swaying people to his way.

>Knowledge: Languages: Kysis can speak elven as fluently as he can common, surprisingly enough.  He studied it as well as the arcane language as magic, which he still remembers.  Kysis likes languages a lot, but does not feel he has the time to learn them all.

>Ride: one of the first things the monks taught him was how to ride a horse.  He likes to think he is rather good at it by now.

>Spellcraft: he was a natural at magic as a child, and that still holds true.  Though his spell arsenal is limited in the mage realm, he can cast a few priest spells, another gift from the monks.

>Survival: Kysis was forced to survive out in the wilderness after the attack on Tel’evin.  He could do it again if he had to.

Current Situation: he has been purchased by a mysterious man in the markets.  Kysis just hopes this won\'t turn out badly.
