Name: Aedus Tahtahl.
Age [appearance]: 18-23.
Age [actual]: 39
Gender: Male.
Species: Half-Elf, Drow heritage.
 
Place of Birth: In the small village of Kurst, located in the Zabizah desert.

House: Umbra, House of Shadow. The House is one of seven found in the remote Assassins guild located deep in the Zabizah Desert. Compares to the House of Silence, with focusing on stealth and the art of being/going unnoticed.
Title: High Apprentice of Zazaar, Grand Master.
Occupation: Apprentice of the last remaining Umbra Grand Master, Zazaar.

Appearance:
Hair: A soft hazel brown he\'s inherited from his human mother, the contrast to his dark skin cause it to appear a lighter shade than it actually is. It’s kept short, at a few inches length, out of practicality. As it is wavy, bordering on curls, he avoids having to spend time sorting it out. The rest of his bodily hair is of the same colour, shifting in shade depending on how much sunlight it’s seen.
 
Eyes: His eyes are also brown, though with such a dark colour it’s very difficult to see where his pupils end and iris begin. Due to their dark colour combined with his character they have a piercing feel to however they’re focused upon. The shape of his eyes are somewhere between slanted like those of elves and the basic round shape of humans.
 
Frame: Of average height, a little over 5\'7", thanks to his human heritage. He’s strong and fit from having spent much time training, practicing or working, but with the physique of an elf he’s failed to lose his ‘slender’ look. Aedus sometimes gets an advantage when those opposing him underestimate him due to this physical trait.
He weighs around 75kg.
 
Skin: He has the dark skin of a drow though a far lighter shade than that of a pure blooded drow\'s. It’s grey with hints of ordinary, human, bisque(ish) colour.
Tattoos/Distinguishing Marks: There are old scars from training, childhood mishaps and other experiences, but nothing distinguishing.

 
Clothes: As all residents of the elemental academy, except for a few levels of students and masters, the outer robe is white and the other clothes a pale grey. Being an apprentice he doesn’t wear a colored sash but instead a rather wide utility belt, tailored and modified to his preference. Mandatory for all is the badge representing their house and academy, and Aedus wears his strapped to his chest.
 
The badge is triangle in shape, the official sign of the Elemental Academy in form of a gust of wind and river crossing paths in front of a sun, and the black tower symbolizing his house, Umbra.
 
Alignment: Lawful Neutral.
Deity: Saint Cuthbert, this due to his Master following this deity.

 
Personality:
The first impression many who meets Aedus gets is that he’s a thoroughly submissive and subservient character. He’s silent and seldom speaks unless spoken to, composed and almost never gets agitated or visibly upset, never hesitates at orders or tasks given or complains out loud. Older than his apparent age people say, and rightfully so as he’s close to 40 years old.
 
Truthfully, he isn\'t submissive.
 
Aedus is loyal, and when his loyalty is given, he will do anything for that person or belief having earned his loyalty. He follows orders given by his superiors but in the end the only and final say that matters comes from his Master and foster father Zazaar. Over the years he’s become patient and level-headed and is hard to anger, years of being ill treated due to his heritage adding to this. He’s unused to socializing and becomes uncomfortable around strangers, turning very formal and correct and even boring.
 
Other than those main attributes he’s kind and compassionate, very much thanks to his foster father, and have romantic ideas and retains the naïve hope that ‘good conquers evil’.
 
Despite his inability to improvise and take lead in unfamiliar situations he is very good at planning and executing plans, knowing his weakness in qualities people appreciate in leaders he tries to compensate and never be unprepared. Give him a mission and he will execute it as taught and instructed. Should there however be no master, no instructions, no codes to follow, he’ll fumble and fail to take charge. In tasks such as missions and life itself.
 
History:
He knows little of his history before Zazaar found him in the remains of a human village in the desert. When the then young master assassin found Aedus he was supposedly orphaned and taken along to the assassin’s guild, to later be adopted by Zazaar. Growing up in an assassin’s guild is no ideal for a child but he strongly believes he was treated better there than he would’ve been anywhere else, with his foster father deeply caring for him.
 
It wasn’t surprising he became a student himself, in the Elemental Academy, and later an apprentice of his father. As an apprentice he’s accompanied Zazaar on missions and tasks or performed his personal biddings or whatever was asked of him.

 
Some time ago, in the middle of the night, Aedus was waken and sent away from the academy with a message and a warning to the academy, sneaking out and into the cold desert as the alarm sounded and chaos erupted behind him.
 
Family: Mother: presumed dead. Biological father: unknown. Foster father, the Grand-Master Zazaar, 63 years old, current status: unknown.
 
Likes: Aedus, when he’s not working, likes reading and spending time outdoors. He also likes animals, horses and riding in particular. He also likes performing and doing well, being successful and succeeding.
Dislikes: Having nothing to do, having to be confined to small spaces for long times, glares and mockery from people around him. Isn’t too optimistic about scorching sun either, maybe from spending too long time living in the desert.

 
Character Strength: He’s level headed and calm in even the most stressful situations, nimble and quick due to both his heritage and education. A fast learner and remembers what he’s read or been taught/told for a very long time. Good endurance.
Character Weakness/Flaw: While he knows how to follow law, instructions and orders he has a hard time dealing with chaotic and ‘grey’ situations where there’s no distinct ‘right’ or ‘wrong’. Needs orders, has a hard time to take initiative or decide on major things. A follower, not a leader. Failure to improvise as well, what people observing him may believe be improvised is most certainly planned ahead. Those he loves is also a weakness of his, insulting their character or threatening their safety makes Aedus loose his cool.

 
Interesting Facts / Quirks: Becomes really talkative when consuming alcohol, has a low tolerance but knows it. During a few years he and his foster father had a questionable relationship; it later morphed into a stable father and son relation. Has a weak spot for tacky romance novels.
Favourite Food: Grilled potatoes.
Favourite Colour: Grey and white.
Hobby/Hobbies: Reading, riding, exploring.

Current Financial Status: Poor, enough to survive the city.

 
Carried Weapons: Throwing knives and shurikens on/in his belt, a dagger in his right boot, a wrist blade on his left arm, a scimitar strapped to his hip (for and during travels only).
 
Known Magick: Sparse, he hasn’t studied much magick, and only a few good, basic spells.
Knock, opens locks but not those magically locked.
Invisible, for a short period of time becomes invisible to the eye.
Blur, makes him blurry and harder to see/hit.
Haste, becomes twice as fast.


He\'s currently, and has for some time, studying to learn the spell Farsight which allows the caster to scout an area ahead without physically being there.
