What would everyone think about a forum where everything exists in a world where people are all ruled by a working system of a monotonous day, where at night-time the only entertainment is educational t.v., political debates and B&W cartoons, . . but there is also a governmentally distributed Virtual Reality game in which people can live in there permanently but if you do then you have to work a steady job in the game. Also, you could just build up a regular character and work your way through the quest system and when you get good enough can change classes? However though, the game is really a subtle mind-control environment in which people are fed messages such as: no rebellion, no complaining, stay away from people who talk about this and that, and so on and so forth. Humans would be the only race but the class system would be pretty expansive to give everyone more choices for characters. Tell me what you think please!

Yeah, I know that\'s a huge obstacle so I\'m guessing it\'ll never happen . . .

The concept reminds me of Neuromancer by William Gibson.  There\'s also the Shadowrun RPG (pen and paper) around with forums that are based on it.

Why does shadowrun sound so familiar . . . is it similar to Shadowgate?

VIP Status is automatically given after a member reaches 2 years and 1000 posts.  A member might be made VIP by Admin for a special reason also.

I could actually set it up if someone REALLY wanted it. It seems like almost identical to Robert Jordan\'s Otherland... and I have a pretty good idea of what it\'s like. I could very easily make a board with a lot of neat features and something that could be pulled off very neatly for this.

And to be honest... I think it\'d be really fun just making it and setting it up. >.>

But I remember E.O. telling me that you can become a VIP when you either get 1,000 posts or when you\'ve been on for two years, depending on which comes first. @_@

But Mira, I\'m not even sure if you would be allowed to now would you?

E.O. was right at the time when you were originally told that when you first asked (some months ago, I believe). The auto-promote now requires both 1000 posts and 2 years.  It was changed because inactive members were being promoted if they did nothing and I forgot to or chose not to delete them.  Is it important to you to have the VIP title?

Mira can do whatever she likes, there\'s lots of free forums around for anybody to set up a roleplay area

The only thing a member is asked not to do, is steal concepts and literature.  A brand new idea is not stealing, unless you don\'t want her to set it up for you moongazer?

Her choice; my ideas are free-source and the only reason why VIP status technically matters to me is because of the fact that at my current posting rate I probably won\'t obtain it for about 2 more years.
