The pang at the thought of her leaving him so quickly was sharp, but he beamed the smile of the vindicated, the triumphant, the awestruck anyway, and he cooed to her as he cuddled her closer to his bike.  He was so swift getting his helmet that she would barely have registered that he was gone before he was supporting her again, helping her onto his sleek machine and straddling the bike behind her.  He promised that he would deliver her to her own vehicle the next evening and then he fitted his helmet onto her head for safety.

The rain was the last thing on his mind as he roared out of the gazebo in much the same manner as he\'d come in, riding past Delsen without a second glance and off into the night.
