Kerr\'s words hit the right note for Jack to accept and be pleased by them.  He saw them not as a warning at all, but of hope of things to come.  Yes, Kerr was aware that the ritual was looming, and he was excited to be an active participant this time, instead of merely being the outcome.

Jack stroked Kerr\'s fingers for a moment, grinned back, then shuffled away in order to dress himself as well.  He had little to say after that, for he felt like he was gliding on a cushion of air.  He hummed an anonymous tune when putting on his clothes, found himself bouyant and light-hearted whenever he looked Kerr\'s way, and was already looking forward to their next interaction before this one was even over - knowing it wouldn\'t be as remarkeable as this, but he could wait.  He was a master at waiting.
