Taking the dismissal at face value, Kerr informed Jack that he would go get Ben and be in the car waiting for him in the driveway when he was ready.  He left knowing that Jack still wasn\'t too impressed with him and determined to make it up to him later, but already planning the night ahead in his mind - where he would drop Jack off, what store he would take Ben to, what questions he\'d need to ask about the computer, when he\'d drop the fact he was an Oligarch into the conversation...

That last one was, of course, the one that troubled him the most but it bore the least thought because worrying wouldn\'t help him create a better outcome.  It would be what it was.

Kerr collected Ben on his way through the house, walking with him out to the car and telling his fledgling that Jack did, indeed want a lift into the city.  They walked out of the house together, turning things off and locking doors as they went.  Kerr told Ben how he needed to get some more keys cut for he and Jack now that they were all living there, and he\'d have to give them both instructions on the security system too - he joked that the code was a lot more difficult to decipher than it had been with Sawyl around but that he hadn\'t been using it since they\'d come back.

They got into the car in the garage and drove out and did a loop on the circular driveway so that they\'d be nearer the front door for Jack to get in the back of the sleek sedan.  Kerr commented idly that he really needed to cut a hole in the garage wall soon, before he put the car in park and relaxed back in the driver\'s seat, looking curiously over at Ben.  "So... do you think you\'d like a laptop or a desktop computer?" he queried, glancing at the clock in the dash.  He was expecting Jack to arrive at any second.
