Nain\'aea Baequi\'undlin

(1/1)

Saiketsu:
NOTE: I\'ve had a really hard time playing Nain\'aea, though I loved her when I made her. Ideally she should be used in Half-light and I\'d love to see her continued there, but if not then so be it.

A lot of things about this character are alterable, including her race if need be, her age, her history, etc. Anyone playing this character, however, should keep in mind that she is meant to stick out of any society becaise of her half-blood. I would prefer that she were kept a half-blood creature, like a half-elf or something else of that sort. Her history should remain something similar to what I have already written, though it is not necessary.

Nain\'aea is able to be morphed and sculpted to fit as the writer needs but a few basic facts need/should be enforced when using her:[*]She is a love child between two societies.[*]She is a child, like her father, of the woods. [*]She was mildly neglected by her mother as she grew up [*]She doesn\'t fit perfectly into any society in some way. [*]She is supposed to be eerily good-looking with a sense of complete innocence[*]She looks and acts most like her father.[*]She is very curious by nature
That\'s it! Enjoy.

Tattoos/Distinguishing Marks: Besides the heavy elven features? Nothing.

Alignment: Neutral Good
Deity: Corellon Larethian
Personality: Nain\'aea is a child of the wood. Like her father, she has a tremendous love for all things four-footed, winged, or green in color. She fears little in Corellon\'s green earth, but fears the city as much as she fears death. Her social skills are in desperate need of polish, as she\'s spent much of her life growing up among animals and her family. She\'s not one to abuse her power of speech, choosing to use it only when there is an absolute and inescapable need to. More likely to feed her curiosity than hide from those things she fears, Nain\'aea isn\'t always cautious in things unknown to her.

With a few exceptions, this child doesn\'t hold grudges for no good reason. She remains in control of her emotions and is typically optimistic. She is not extremely religious, but still has faith. Nain\'aea doesn\'t like to talk to people she\'s not familair with about her life or family. She has a sort of quite pride about being part elven and leans more towards being elven than human. She learns quickly and is nimble in any skill she develops.

Extended History: Her mother, Antonia, was born into the human world of Thorrian to wealthy merchants. She lived a normal, happy life where nothing extraordinarily devastating happened. One night while out at a local festival, Antonia caught the eye of an extremely exotic and mysterious looking man. She felt herself cast under a spell, and followed him away from the crowd and into the closest woods. There, the man revealed himself as an elf named Saeryl Norre\'eplith, claiming to have fallen madly in love with the human. He seduced her and Nain\'aea was conceived. The one-night-stand turned into a new start to life, as the couple eloped and hid from both species of people during Antonia\'s pregnancy.

Once Nain\'aea was conceived, the two decided that it was safer to raise the child and start a family away from the eyes of either society. Nain\'aea Antonia was given her elvish name at the age of two, her surname chosen by her mother, Antonia, and translated into Elvish by Saeryl, her father. She grew up among the trees and woodland animals without much social contact. Throughout her childhood, she was very close with her father who refused to raise her as a human child. As a result, her religious affiliation, language selection and philosophies reflect that of the wood elves.

While it was rare that Nain\'aea entered either a human or an elven city, she would often times pretend to be fully elven to defend herself against scorn for being a half-breed when the occasion arose. Several times she has been mocked by other elves for being half-human, and never fully accepted, even though her father was of moderate stature. In the human world, it was easier for her to blend in as an elf (because most couldn\'t tell the difference).

By the fifteenth year apart from society, even Nain\'aea noticed the problems of the family. Scorn from both the human and the elven world became more and more common as the family aged. Saeryl seemed to be slipping off into the forest more and more frequently without his daughter, returning without warning and fighting with Antonia. There was mention about another wife from before Nain\'aea, a name she never quite understood. When Antonia\'s belly began to swell with a new baby, Saeryl left for good, assumably to return to his old family, the one before Antonia and Nain\'aea. When Nain\'aea was fifteen years old Antonia gave birth to another child.

To Antonia, ever under Saeryl\'s spell and miserable without him, the baby was a burden. Nain\'aea helped her mother get rid of the young child before it aged too much with the hope that Saeryl would return. Nain\'aea left the baby on the nearest doorstep, a buisness whose name she has long since forgotten. But Saeryl never returned even while the baby was presumed dead and Nain\'aea watched her mother drive herself into madness with grief. At the age of thirty-four Antonia drowned herself, leaving a sixteen-year-old Nain\'aea alone in the cottage in the woods.

Once Nain\'aea\'s mother had died, she was left to fend for herself. She tried to move to the elven city to find her father, yet found it an extremely inhospitable place to her, especially when she dropped her father\'s name. She spent many happy years in the cottage in the woods, before deciding to move to Thorrian as a request from her late mother (as written in a letter left behind).

She feels ill will towards her younger brother and fully expects to find her father one day and live with him again because Nain\'aea still feels a large amount of love for her father and her mother.

Likes: Watching people, music, furry animals, climbing trees and mountains, the forests, bodies of water, solitude, reading.
Dislikes: Violence, loud noises, her brother, excess of anything.

Character Strength: In everything she does that is unfamiliar to her she is always cautious, even when she is speaking to someone she doesn\'t know. Nain\'aea is always curious about everything around her. She loves learning new things and always finds a use for the skills she learns. Alway full of life and a bubbling energy. She loves easily and hardly forgets about such important things. She is determined in almost everything she does and finds comfort in small things others may not.
Character Weakness/Flaw: She is resentful towards anyone who speaks badly of her family or herself. Nain\'aea can be too curious for her own good sometimes. Her lack of social skills no doubt puts her into some awkward and generally upsetting situations. She has a very low opinion about most humans and any race that is not elven. In cases where she enters a city, she generally doesn\'t like to abide by any laws she deems unnessecary.

Interesting Facts / Quirks: She can speak two different languages fluently and often confuses words in the Elvish for those in the Common tongue. She has never fallen in love, though there were those few instances where she would like a boy who never noticed her. Her physical strength doesn\'t exceed a human female\'s, a lucky break for her.
