History: She was born and raised in the Northwestern United States as an only child. Her parents made sure she went off to college as soon as she graduated from high school, though it meant moving away from her family. She quickly fell in love with Seattle and its quick access to all the outdoor things she loved to do. After graduating, she found an investor and opened up a coffee shop that became very successful.  Granted, most people in Seattle are caffeine addicts, so a fast-serving and dependable coffee shop quickly drew repeat business - enough that she was able to open one in several neighborhoods. She remained there for a little over a decade before moving to another city with plans to introduce the general population there to good coffee.

Roughly two weeks after moving from Seattle, she invited some friends down to go backpacking. After dinner around the campfire, she gathered the dishes and went to the nearby creek to wash them all. As she was completely focused on crouching over the water without falling in, she did not hear something large plowing through the undergrowth to her immediate right. She was only able to raise her arm to protect her face after she was barreled  into by a large black ball of what seemed to be fur and human parts. When her companions rushed to the screaming, her attacker disappeared, leaving her with a mangled arm. They patched her up the best they could with what they had and at first light, gathered their things and helped her down the trail they'd taken.

Doctors at the hospital were disbelieving of her story and wrote into her medical files that she had been attacked by a potentially rabid wolf, then started her on a regimen of rabies vaccine doses after stitching her up.

Before even seeing a full moon, the werewolf Oligarch Dominik located and made her aware of what would happen. Initially, she coped well with the information, but the reality of her situation set in after she turned for the first time. She developed a problematic dependency on sleeping aids and anti-anxiety medication. A couple years later and she'd kicked the habit, developing much healthier alternatives to deal with being a werewolf.
