CHRISTIAN MAZZELLO

Age [appearance]: 12
Age [actual]: 12
Gender: Male
Species: Human

Hair: Red, shaggy length and always pushed to the right side of his face.  His hair is thin so its easy for the wind to push it around.
Eyes: Brown, very round, which is sometimes hard to tell because he squints a lot, not out of bad eyesight just habit.
Frame: Skinny. 5' 1" hasn't had much of a growth spurt yet.
Tattoos/Distinguishing Marks: A large scar down his left forearm.  When Christian was 5 he had fallen off his bike and broke his arm.  He needed a steel rod inserted to correct the bone. Christian also has a small gap between his two front teeth.

Personality: Christian is well known for his wild imagination.  He loves coming up with unique situations to play pretend in.  Christian is very expressive with his body, especially his facial expressions.  When he is talking he will use his whole body to tell the story.  You can always tell what kind of mood he's in because he wears the emotion so openly on his face.  Christian loves to talk, especially about all of the knowledge of useless information he stores in his head.  His favorite things to read are comic books, mostly of the horror genre, even though they give him nightmares.  He is very much a mama's boy, which his father disliked.  He is very innocent minded, not thinking of things most of the other boys in his class were thinking about.

History: Christian is from the south side of Boston Massachusetts.  He lived on a crowded street where a lot of other Italian families lived.  Everyone on the block knew each other.  Christian’s dad Joey owned his own Car Shop just three blocks from their house.  His family was on the lower side of middle class.  His mother Dana collected disability checks after hurting her back at the nursing home she used to work at.  Christian had an older sister named Stephanie who was 15.

Christian loved his mom with all his heart.  She was his protector.  She was the one that talked him back to bed after he would have a bad nightmare.  She was the one that iced his eye when boys at school would bully him.  His father always complained about how he should be involved in more sports, even though Christian did soccer in the summer, which he enjoyed, but it wasn’t tough enough for his father. Joey tried to do everything he could to get Christian interested in things.  Of course he loved his son and would always try to spend time with him.  Christian really loved the days where his dad would bring him to the car shop and Christian would bring the tools to all the guys that worked there.

Joey was determined to take his family on vacation; he had been saving up for years.  It was the summer before Christian went into the 7th grade that they had finally saved enough money to take a vacation.  Christian had never left the state of Massachusetts before so going across country to California was a huge deal for him. They were going to see all the sites and even go to Disneyland.  The night before they left Christian was so excited that he stayed up all night reading comic books.

Christian slept the whole plane ride, which he didn’t mind because the next thing he knew they were across the country.  But it was when the Mazzello family checked into their hotel that the infection started to spread.  Christian had barely unpacked his things before hearing his older sister scream from the next room.  Christian looked to find his sister being ripped apart by a woman wearing a maid’s outfit.  His parents were trying their best to rip the woman off of her but were attacked from behind by two more men with blood stained mouths.  Christian’s only hope was to lock him self in the bathroom before they noticed him.  Christian clenched his eyes shut trying to stop the tears and covered his ears to try to block out the agonizing screams of his parents.

When the screaming stopped Christian was able to open the door and run out of the room as fast as he could.  The hotel seemed to be deserted and Christian found him self running until his feet started to bleed.

Occupation/Job: Unemployed, though he would help his dad around his car shop once in a while.

Awareness of Vampires: Unaware that Vampires exist in real life.
Knowledge of Zombies: Knows almost everything there is to know about Zombies, thanks to comic books.

Interesting Facts / Quirks: Although they give him nightmares, Christian can't seem to resist any sort of Horror comic, whether it be about vampires, werewolves or (his favorite) zombies.  His nightmares get so bad some nights where he pleads with his parents to sleep in their bed.  Christian is also afraid of the dark most nights.
Hobby/Hobbies: Collecting oddly shaped or colored rocks. In his room he has a whole toy chest dedicated to rocks.  Each one has a story that he could tell you in full detail where and when he found it.  Also collects Horror Comics.

Likes: Comic books, playing outside, soccer, snow, pets, school, writing, family, video games, board games, drawing.
Dislikes: Nightmares, the dark, long car rides, doctors, bullies, medicine, chores.

Strength: Christian is very smart for his age which will get him far in life.  He picks things up rather quickly.  He can get along with mostly anybody as long as they are nice to him.
Weakness/Flaw: With being a 'late bloomer' Christian is physically weaker than a lot of other boys his age.  Therefore he is bullied a lot, which can take a strong toll on his self esteem.  Christian gets scared easily and feels more comfortable when he is around other people.
