Personality:
Wary and guarded. A very deep thinker with a strong sense of empathy, but it takes her a long time to warm to people and let them in.
History:
Amity has had a hard life. Her mother was a prostitute and drug addict and both Amity and her little sister, Verity, were both neglected by their mother, who loved them but was flailing further and further out of control with her drug use and high risk lifestyle. Living such a chaotic lifestyle made it hard for Amity, then an eighteen year old girl. She found herself craving routine and became interested in witchcraft after coming across a book stashed at the back of a library shelf in her school. She loved the simple daily rituals and felt the truth of the beliefs that wicca is based on. She has never been in a coven but she is a solitary, self taught witch.
She has always been able to see the dead occasionally and sometimes speak to them and also to heal people by touching them, talents that frightened her when she was a little girl. She also realised as she approached her teens that other people weren't able to perform these talents and she felt isolated even further from her peers.
One day, her mother moved the three of them into the house of her new boyfriend, Ken, who was also her pimp. Ken started focusing strongly on Verity and Amity could see that it was only a matter of time before he started abusing the little girl. She spoke to her mother about it but her mother, unable to cope with the truth of what was happening, turned away from her children and pretended Ken's behaviour was not happening.
With no other option left open to her, Amity confronted Ken and informed him that she knew what he was doing and if he kept on going, she would go to the police about him. Ken reacted angrily and attacked her, beating her until she was unconscious. Her mother did take her to hospital and when she finally woke up three weeks later, her mother lied to her, and told her that Verity had pulled a pot of boiling water from the stove over herself by accident and had died from her injuries. She also told Amity that Ken no longer wanted her at the house and when she got out from the hospital she would not be welcomed back with her mother.
The only reason that Amity would have gone back to that house was to be there to protect her little sister, so thinking she was gone and that Amity was now alone after her mother's rejection of her, she hit the road when she finally got out of hospital. She moved away from the town she grew up in and wandering for two years from place to place, before arriving in the city.
As a witch, used to living outside of the acceptance of normal society, and liking the strong supernatural element to the town Amity decided that this was the place that she wanted to call home. Even loners get tired of being alone sometimes and she hoped that soon, she would find some friends and perhaps, with a little luck, create her own sense of family that she has always craved and never known.
Awareness of Supernaturals:
Amity is aware that supernaturals exist and is interested in learning a lot more about them, but at the moment is quite naive about them and doesn't have a lot of information about them .
Occupation/Job:
Amity has no real job as such. Occasionally she reads people's tarots and auras and she makes candles that can be spelled, which she sells in markets. She is interested in setting up a wiccan shop, but that takes money and she has nothing yet so she will be looking for any work that might come her way.

Interesting Facts / Quirks:
She doesn't tell many people, but she is occasionally able to see the dead and she can communicate with them. She was always disappointed that she could never see her sister and she focuses on her frequently, trying to call her to speak to her.
She can also see people's auras, particularly if they are going through a period of strong emotion. She has a very sweet singing voice but rarely sings in public as she is quite shy and wary of drawing attention to herself.
Hobby/Hobbies:
She is very creative and likes making things with her hands. She quilts when she can find the material and paints and draws extremely well. She occasionally sells her artwork at markets also.
Likes:
Amity likes animals very much and has a strong bond with them, so much so that she sometimes feels she is empathically joined with them. Loves nature, swimming in the sea and being creative. She is vegetarian and is extremely health conscious.
Dislikes:
Needy people and confrontation. She doesn't like being around smokers, not because she is judging them but because she feels the smell of smoke interferes with her sense of the environment around her. For the same reason, she dislikes being too immersed in the sounds and smells of the city and becomes quite depressed if she spends too much time in 'the concrete jungle'.
Strength:
Is extremely good at spellcasting and has a strong knowledge of naturopathy. She is very resilient and extremely good in a crisis and thinks well on her feet. Is very good at healing through touch.
Weakness/Flaw:
Her own lack of belief in herself. She feels she has nothing to offer and doesn't see her own strengths.
