The Book Of Skin
Volume 6

Sub Category: Earthly Plane Connections

Current Owner: Charon

Creation and Look:
The cover and back of the book is a hard, black, indestructible shell. Each page bound into the book of skin is exactly the namesake - a page of skin, though most of them feel and look like aged leather, including the human one. Each page is coloured a pinky or bloody red in the middle. Considering the book is quite large, measuring 35 x 50 cm and the pages inside measure only 2 cm inside of that, it is perhaps easier to imagine that the skin was taken after death (but then the magic of the page wouldn't work). Each page is stitched into the book with a thread of silver. There is room for a few more pages to be added, though the book is already thick with almost five hundred 'pages'. Each page has its species written in tiny lettering in the bottom left corner in the back of the page. The pages were not added in any particular order.

Earthly Plane Connections:
All of the creatures' skin that this book has are a single plane's distance from Earth. All these creatures breathe the same kind of air, drink the same kind of water, and most plants carry nutrients that support them. Sun, moon and weather are unknown. The passing of time is unknown, but each plane has its own passing. Two years on one world might be two seconds on Earth, and vice versa.
Admin Note: All species on Infusco have a page of skin in this book.

Purpose:
The selected page can open a portal into the plane that the creature came from.

Instructions:
On the inside cover, there are easy-to-follow instructions and a number of scrawled notes.
1. Prick finger and drip blood onto the relevant page.
2. Place palm on page atop the blood.
3. Declare 'The book and I will travel'
Note: If the statement is said differently but to the same sentiment, it will still work.
Note: Not mentioning that the book will travel with you means a one-way ticket to that plane
Note: There is no portal to go through, the book itself is a portal
Note: The drip of blood has to belong to the traveller as does the hand pressing on the page. The traveller also has to say the line so you can't get rid of dead bodies this way.
Note: Whatever you hold will come with you. Arm yourself with weapons, take food and water, a backpack is wise with extra clothes.
Note: You will always arrive inside an abandoned building, usually a house but not always
