“Good with your hands, that’s nice to know,” Alena said with a cheeky grin as Sam listed off the things she liked to do with her time. Very few of them were things Alena could relate to. She’d danced in the odd club – but it was more just moving to the music than any kind of actual steps. And books weren’t all that easy to come by on the streets, although she did know how to read – it wasn’t something she would seek out. Drawing just seemed like a waste of time.
“Oh, I love video games,” Alena said, sitting up straighter, “I’m amazing at them. You know those arcade games, they’re so much fun, I spent most of my childhood in those arcades. Probably why I need to do more learning now,” he said with a laugh. Most of the arcades in the city she had the top spot on, although with a variety of names. Funny how with a touch of electricity most of those games would pay out a winner and those Pac-Man ghosts would slow down a touch.
“My life’s not that exciting, hanging out with friends, going shopping, going to the cinema,” she listed off. “That’s partly why I’m looking forward to signing up for your class. It’ll be something else to do with my time. I mean, I know it’s not the kind of course that would get you a job most places, but there’s a few where it might come in handy once it’s complete,” Alena added.
She didn’t have to worry about money, the credit card trick she’d used in her worked well, or a minute with an ATM got her all the cash she’d need, but getting a job would be interesting. She’d considered trying to get a job at the White Rabbit to learn more about Jake, but she figured they’d want to do more checks on her background than she’d be willing to have them do. After what that murdered had done they’d probably not be too keen on hiring demons for a start.
“Is there anything I should do before class starts? Anything I should read or study up on?” Alena asked, tucking her hair behind an ear as she tilted her head to give Sam a smile.
