Variations of the SpeciesThere are two different kinds of Scaeri. The Scaeri Di and the Scaeri Tu.
Scaeri Di The Scaeri Di are the venomous species. Often mistaken for vampires because of their fangs - though their fangs can retract into passable canines. On the back of the fangs and near the tip, there is a miniscule slit where the poisonous venom can be released.
Scaeri Di Venom* In large amounts their venom can cause temporary blindness, temporary paralysis, and fever symptoms.
* In small amounts, the effect is similar to LSD. Effects last for about 8 hours and those that experience it have the following symptoms:
- euphoria and wellbeing
- dilation of pupils
- perceptual changes such as visual and auditory hallucinations
- confusion and trouble concentrating
- headaches
- rapid heart beat
- increased body temperature
- breathing quickly
- sweating and chills
* Scaeri Di venom predominantly affects mortals - humans, fae, shifters. Demons, vampires and other supernatural types require large amounts to achieve the LSD experience.
Scaeri Tu These are the constrictors. These demons have quite a grip, perfect for squeezing their victims to death. They have fangs as well though with no slits in the back and they have no venom. Scaeri Tu are always physically large and muscular and their strength rivals that of a thousand-year-old vampire.

AppearanceOften mistaken as vampires because they have fangs, though their fangs can be retracted. They can be drunk from by vampires, however (see below)
They are humanoid and based on their species type, are either slender with delicate features (Scaeri Di), or broad and naturally muscular (Scaeri Tu).
They can transform into a large snake - either venomous (Scaeri Di) or constrictive (Scaeri Tu). They cannot change into a different type from their own.
Aging: 5 Demon Years = 1 Human Year (eg. A Scaeri that looks like they're 20 is likely to be 100 years old)
AbilitiesMany Scaeri believe that drinking blood enhances their strength. This has not been proven but because of the vampire culture, it is easy for them to pose as vampires and drink from willing donors.
When a Scaeri Di drinks from a donor (willing or otherwise), they drip venom into their prey to keep them subjugated - a natural occurrence over which they have no control. This poison won't kill the person they drink from, but they will suffer from hallucinations for the first hour and eventually will break into sweats and feel nauseated for the next few hours. The Scaeri Tu do not affect their donors when drinking.
They can speak to snakes and use them as informants. They can take possession of any snake (such as a pet snake) and use them to spy or control them.
Vampire InfoVampires can drink from this species and get sustenance, though the blood is harder to draw out of demons. For their effort, a Scaeri Di has SPICY blood (like sucking on blood infused with chilli powder) and a Scaeri Tu has an EDAMAME flavour (like sucking on blood infused with salt and herbs).
