Dana Talise Fields

Basics

Species: Werewolf

Gender: Female

Age: 33

Birthday: January 24, 1987

Appearance

Height: 5’8”

Weight: 125 lbs

Hair Color: Brown with lighter, honey highlights.

Hair Style: She keeps her wavy, past shoulder-length hair up in a low and sloppy bun. When she does take time to style it, she’ll use a round brush and a hairdryer to smooth it all out.

Eye Color: Light blue with pronounced limbal rings.

Makeup: Rarely. She can manage a smokey eye and has a tube of red lipstick she’ll break out on dressy occasions, though.

Facial Structure: Her face is an oval shape, soft except for the sharp point her nose comes to and her pronounced cleft chin. Her eyes are rounded and turn downwards at the outermost corners. Her skin is fair and dusted with freckles.

Body Structure: She’s not a physically imposing woman. Dana is muscular, but it’s all layered on a slender frame. If not for her athletic musculature, she’d be considered waif-like.

Dress Style: She prefers functional clothes that can be worn in a variety of outdoor settings, and is most often found in a combination of jeans, t-shirts, flannel, boots, and jackets with hoods. These layered outfits can be worn in dive bars and shitty 24-hour-diners without raising an eyebrow, but she’s often mistaken as homeless in the city proper.

Personality

The supernatural world exists outside of normal society, and so Dana operates and survives under a self-created code. It’s simple: There are monsters and there are monsters, and the monsters need to be exposed. She doesn’t hesitate to commit morally questionable acts in order to achieve her goals -- lying, cheating and stealing are not beneath her.

She’s loyal and duty-bound to a fault, and will stop at nothing to protect those she cares about, often landing her in dicey situations she might’ve otherwise avoided.

Dana doesn’t like thinking about the past, and if working herself to the bone doesn’t keep her from doing that, then there’s always making her way through a bottle of whiskey that’ll do the trick.

History

If Dana’s feeling generous when asked about her distant past, she’ll share that she grew up in Southern Ohio right on the Ohio River, that her big family lived in a little house in a little town, and that everything was always wonderful. If pressed, she’ll shrug and mention that she misses swimming in the river with her siblings. When the barges would pass on their way to port cities, they’d stir up waves that let them pretend they were at the ocean, even though none of them had ever been before. If pressed further, she’ll mention the mayflies, and how damned annoying they were when they’d swarm and coat every surface, so that she had to wear shoes and she never did like wearing shoes when she was a kid.

Any additional pressing will result in several heartbeats of silence followed by a deflecting joke and an abrupt change of subject.

Her reluctance to discuss her past spares her pain in the moment, but supplied with her full name, city of birth, and age, anyone with access to Google would be able to verify her admissions. They’d also find dozens of articles about the summer night her entire family had a “deadly encounter with wild dogs” during a cookout. Dana, alive because she’d been away studying journalism in college, finished her senior year in a fog that cleared when she returned home to suss out an unfortunate truth that left her cursed.

Ignoring her colleagues' advise otherwise, she published everything she’d found and experienced, only to end up labeled a conspiracy nut. She writes now for publications that are as supernatural as she is in an honest effort to shine a light on the things that’d rather stay in the dark.

Tidbits

Strengths: Practical, realistic, confident, loyal, direct, good memory, resourceful, driven, hard working, detail-oriented
Weaknesses: Uses alcohol as a coping mechanism, judgmental, hides vulnerabilities with humor, bullheaded, impatient, prone to making rash decisions

Likes: Drinking, autonomy, living in the moment, being on the road, natural landscapes, dry socks, coffee, the occasional cigarette
Dislikes: Being questioned, being pushed around, emotional responses to rational issues, restrictions

Awareness of Supernaturals: She’s familiar with werewolves and vampires, primarily. Since moving her base to the city, she’s become aware there are many, many other species and organizations left to research and if necessary, tear down the façades that allow them to harm others with impunity.

Occupation: Investigative Journalist

Domicile: A twenty-year-old camper van that she moves when 1.) her job requires 2.) parking enforcement chalks her tires 3.) a better spot opens up.

Hobby: When she’s able to, she parks her camper van near large bodies of water and swims.

Permissions Given in a Reasonable Roleplay:

(Yes = you don't have to ask before acting in RP, No = you ask first)
Feeding: Yes, if a vampire is desperate enough to try out less-than-tasty werewolfy-tainted blood when she's in human form and/or die when she's transformed.
Wounding/Cursing: Yes
Killing: Yes
