Title: Hungry in the night....
Post by: Raff_Kimimaru on March 03, 2008, 03:17:36 AM
Multiple Character RP !

Raff slowly walked through the halls at night blending in with the shadows, the only thing that stood out from his clothes is his yellow sash which it didn\'t matter as he kept walking through the halls as silently as he could just to make sure no one would hear him.

Man,I hate walking through the halls at night I\'m gonna hate to be caught one day.

He said to himself as he made a turn down the left hall, and making his way closer to the kitchen, he kept his mind on the prize he didn\'t back out and he wouldn\'t back out no way he wouldn\'t do that, he was hungry and all he would have to do is pick the lock open the door and run out, sounds easy, but it actually wasn\'t for the most part.

Alright I\'m close...I don\'t see anyone patrolling this area tonight.

He said to himself, but at that moment he though he heard someone or something behind him as he quickly dove into the darkness,In the most darkest spot there was and laid as flat against the wall as he could holding his breath making sure he wouldn\'t make a sound. And then he saw someone back behind him but it seemed like they didn\'t notice him but Raff wasn\'t sure, what if they did see him? what if they didn\'t even since his presence? Raff wasn\'t sure at all,all he knew was to at least be silent and hide right up against the wall but that\'s when he remember his magic book!,but he was from the Cruori house he was most based on weapons, and not in magick that much but he wade a few hand signs and he turned to mist and hid in the air molecules were he wouldn\'t be seen;technically he was invisible at night but in the day someone could see something see-through was standing there.

Alright, now, do i slowly walk away toward the kitchen,or do I stay here and wait till that person is gone?

Raff asked himself,as he stayed and waited until he got an opening to cut out or something, at least he was hoping it wasn\'t a level above him or someone who could tell he was standing there but if they could they would have be concentrating real hard since he was hiding the in the air molecules since he turned into mist and technically it made him see through to where he could be  invisible for hiding he usually used it in sparing matches but not much anymore  since he became a level 7 student that is,and since then he really hasn\'t used it until now.But he kept staring at the figure;wondering why they kept standing there..the probably saw him turn into the air molecules,he thought.

Raff stayed flat as he could on the wall, still hoping the person would go away as then Raff decided to just walk towards the kitchen blending in night the with the molecules to make a good cover.

Mai was starving! She hadn\'t eaten for a day due to her studying. She crept closer to the kitchen. She has never done anything like this, but of course, she\'s never missed meals. She just kept her mind on the sweet food that was trapped in the kitchen. Mai licked her lips with anticipation as she was a few yards away from the kitchen.

Mai scratched her hip, soon stumbling and making a loud noise, followed by a low whisper of cuss words. She looked forward and saw something move into the darkness. She was afraid to move any farther. Mai looked at the person and tried to make out who they were. She squinted her eyes and saw a ripple. Something was wrong with the wall.

Shit! kept rolling through her head. She figured it was a apprentice or a teacher. She knew she was dead. She didn\'t move an inch. If it was an apprentice or teacher they would bust her already. Mai stood there hoping it was a teacher since they\'re a little easier at punishments than apprentices are.

Why aren\'t they moving? she asked herself. Mai soon gained enough confidence to speak.
"I can see you so stop hiding from me!" she whispered

Raff quickly knew it wasn\'t an apprentice or a Patrol officer or anything and waltzed over and replied "Shhhh! don\'t attract anyone..I\'m here for the same reason you are I thought you were an apprentice or something so I stood there and wanted to wait till you left." Raff said to her in a low voice "So..I take it you missed a meal like I did or something ?"

Raff said in a Calm voice knowing that this person wasn\'t going to report or tell on him or anything hopefully, but he knew she couldn\'t he could get her for the same thing.Which was stealing from the fucking pantry as he would put it.But the teachers just say "Stealing" or "Theft" or something he personally didn\'t know. And even if He did it wouldn\'t matter worth a damn since there obviously working together now.

Mai looked at the student. She blinked a few times before speaking again.
"I\'m Mai by the way, and you are?" She glanced at the kitchen and kept walking towards it. She took a deep breath as she grasped the door handle. She slowly pushed the door open and pushed her head in the crack and looked around the kitchen.

"Yea I missed dinner too because of studying," she whispered. Mai opened the door all the way and walked into the kitchen. She wanted to just grab all the food and eat it until she was full and never had to eat again.

"I\'m Raff Kimi-maru, of the Cruori house." He said to her in a low voice and and tried to hide his jagged teeth and pale skin while talking, most people who saw that he was pale and had jagged teeth and all the weird features and flaws of his body people got a little well..freaked you could say, and in fact the only real person who didn\'t even freak at all actually that he pretty much knows of is his girlfriend Selkie.

"And here we are, the kitchen..." he said and opened a drawer and took out 2 cookies and eat them slowly to make sure he wouldn\'t drop any crumbs at all he didn\'t want to get caught at all he just arrived 2 years ago and he wanted to stay just as long as he could he was trying to actually make a good record this time which,he was sure that the school has his old record from that stupid ass public school but he didn\'t care.

"Make sure not to use magic on anything at all, they can track it all the way back to the house you are in." He said to her quietly and made it strictly clear to make sure she doesn\'t,he wanted to make as much safety precautions as he could just to make sure he was on the safe side and so was she; he has done this so many times sneaking, stealing just about everything that has to do with it.

"You don\'t have to warn me," she whisped back. What magick can she use? Water, oh yea, very deadly! She sighed as she grabbed some bread and slowly began eating it. She held her hand under the bread so she didn\'t leave any crumbs behind. She was starving!

Eventually she made it to an apple. She crunched down on it as slow as she could, trying to keep the noise to a minimum. She loved kitchen food, it always tasted good. As Mai took another bite she realized she didn\'t rinse the apple off.
"I need to use my magick! I\'m gunna die!" Mai whispered in a panic. She squeezed the apple doucing it in water and took the water and pestisides out. She kept eating the apple.
"Sorry, Raff. I had to rinse my apple off," Mai looked down and heard a noise coming for the kitchen. She froze and looked at Raff.
"Do you hear that?" she whispered.

Raff quickly looked around and tried to see through the dark,"Grrr...I don\'t know you go and hide and I\'ll signal when I think that everything is here I don\'t want you getting caught in here." He said to her calmly and silently as he didn\'t hide any features,he showed all his jagged teeth when he said it all of them sharp and pointed you could tell he was part demon alright, but one thing said, when Raff literally showed his teeth, he was always being serious he hardly ever joked but when he showed his teeth like that he really was not joking at all.

"Well, hurry and hide I\'m pretty sure I don\'t want you getting in trouble." He said as he looked straight into her eyes and his pale skin made him seem even more serious than he just shown to her he looked down and then back up trying to see if anyone one was still there, but thanks to the damn dark he couldn\'t.He started trying to focus his eyes to get used to the darkness and see but apparently it wasn\'t working. He stayed still keeping Mai behind him making sure so when she could hide they couldn\'t see her body.

"No, we work together on this and I am not leaving you to get into all the trouble," Mai whispered angrily. As Raff showed his teeth she backed up a little, but stood her ground. She wasn\'t going to play it safe and have Raff carry all the blame. "I\'m sorry Raff but no," Mai backed up behind Raff and watched the door window. Someone was out there, it was obvious, but they didn\'t seem like a teacher or an apprentice.

"Raff, I think it\'s another student," Mai squinted. Without her glasses and daylight she couldn\'t see shit. She sighed. Mai hated the dark.

"I don\'t know..,It might be a teacher or apprentice or even one of the cooks, hell for all we know it could be one of the masters even though I doubt it highly.."
Raff whispered to her softly wishing she would go and hide but he knew he probably couldn\'t make her, she would have gone by now, many people  who seen Raff\'s teeth usually backed up they though he would bite down on there shoulder or something, but Raff wasn\'t the type to bite people he would rather claw them to death.

damn it Mai ! go and hide !

Those words kept running in his head as he could see the figure getting closer and closer Raff pulled out three of his poison needles and put them in-between his knuckles and put his left hand on his sword."They probably can\'t see us,so when I throw these I could use them as a diversion and book it out of here, got ?" He said to her strictly and silently making straight eye contact.

Mai nodded.
"One problem," she added. The door was already open and she saw another student standing there. Or, atleast it looked like a student. THey were incredibly familiar too. Mai tilted her head to the left.

Who was this student? She\'s seen them so many times before, or maybe she thought she did. Unless no one was standing there. It was impossible! Someone was there watching the two proably wondering what the hell they were doing in the kitchen. The book outkast and the demon boy. Wonderful combination!

Raff gripped the needles in between his knuckles tightly, making for a good throw and tried to aim as best as he could,"I don\'t know if I can hit him in the dark.." Raff said in a low voice because he knew he probably couldn\'t he was very precise but he didn\'t know about in the dark though, Raff saw how the figure was not moving for some reason...why weren\'t they moving ? He kept asking himself this as it kept running through his head repeatably just kept coming and coming, like faster than a round of machine gun bullets."Hey,Mai why aren\'t they moving wouldn\'t they bust us ?" Raff said silently as his voiced changed about 2 pitches higher and he starred into the night still looking and standing trying to his the person\'s sash to see what level they were.

"Raff, they\'re students too," Mai looked at the students. She wondered where they were from. Mai didn\'t want to speak just in case. She took a glance at the belt. What color was it? She stood behind Raff and waited silently.

Raff concentrated on protecting Mai actually then finding out what they were he wouldn\'t let them take her,no matter what this wasn\'t happening to him he liked Mai, she reminded him of his sister. She was sweet just like her with the same charm."Yea,maybe maybe not, they could be acting like it" Raff replied to her in a light voice which was very logical actually, if they was from a different house from Mai and Raff they could be using magic to hide their true identities and be using Illusions so we couldn\'t tell."Mai, I.." Raff paused and shook his head he knew he couldn\'t do that.Raff just gripped his fist and had a weird freaky/evil smile on his face as his eyes looked weird and his teeth were showing as he glared and growled a bit at the two ahead of him."Come on,get closer..I dare ya." Raff said evil like not paying attention to anything else around him.

Neer had gotten rather hungry earlier in the night, but he simply hadn\'t noticed. The dragon had read straight through dinner and late into the night, not putting down his tome on philosophy until he had read the last words. He had had a single instant of "wow" in which he reflected back on all he\'d just read before his hunger hit him like a freight train.

And that was no good at all. Neer had gotten to the kitchen in record time, running down the hallways on nigh-silent feet. He probably could have pulled off pure silence, but Neer was less than concerned about someone finding him. Anyone out as a hall monitor wouldn\'t pose a problem, and any "fellow" students wouldn\'t be getting in his way.

That\'s odd, Neer thought as he neared the kitchens. The doors were unlocked - he could see from here. The boy slowed, walking forward curiously. Probably students who snuck in, the dragon thought, a grin coming unbidden to his face. He really couldn\'t blame them - hungry was hungry. Fortunately, anyone who was likely to be in the kitchen this late and be careless enough to leave the door unlocked behind them (Neer was sure they were still in there - he could hear breathing, now he thought about it) probably didn\'t know he was anything other than what he seemed to be - a student breaking dress codes.

"I don\'t take dares like that," Neer said playfully, poking his head into the room to look straight at the source of the growl. The dragon grinned, his dark hair framing his pale face as he looked into the boy\'s pale eyes. "And you shouldn\'t make them - never know who you\'re gonna get. The cookies good tonight?" Neer continued in his playful tone, his voice at a low conversational volume instead of a whisper.

He was sure the two students would worry about it, but Neer was dampening the noise to his rear. Maybe they could tell, maybe they couldn\'t. Neer didn\'t much care either way, nor did he care if anyone tried to trace it in the morning. They wouldn\'t get blamed, if anyone did. All in all, it wasn\'t even enough of a concern for Neer to bother tying a fade into the spell.

Raff had an even greater smirk as he seen it was a dragon or something pretty well looking like a dragon,"Yea they are, and also, I wouldn\'t dare me as well I\'m like a box of dynamite, I could explode in many different ways." Raff laughed even harder as his tail slipped out the back of his robe he was keeping it hid and then he made his claws retract and they were shining bright ready to cut clean through something if needed, he then held he needles in his had tighter and looked at the dragon, it didn\'t seem as if he was going to hurt him, or Mai, but if he did he would have to protect Mai for some reason didn\'t want her to get hurt, it was like the demon part of him had mixed with the human part, creating a compassionate side of him that he never even knew he had before and then for some reason his eyes glared red and looked at him in the eyes not backing down, Raff didn\'t even know what had happened he forgot what he was doing, it was like he didn\'t even know who he was or what had happened it seemed as if the demon part had taken over him like before.

Tris walked quietly down the corridors, she should have been in bed but she didn\'t have any food last night, and tonight she was so busy studying... So, she decided to get some food, it\'s not like everybody in the school hadn\'t done this, nor would she get into any real trouble for it.
She was almost there when she stopped to the sound of voices. She peered over the corner to see a figure in the doorway talking to someone in the kitchen. She swore silently under her breath and listened.

"The cookies good tonight?"

The cookies good tonight? Trist repeated silently to herself, and continued to listen, when she heard a slightly familiar voice. Oh, what was his name? Rick, no Daff.. Raff or something like that. She shrugged and walked out.

"Looks like I\'m not the only one who\'s hungry in the middle of the night." She said as she walked towards the door. She looked at the person in the door and swore in her head at her stupidity. "Good evening, sir." She said to the master. She hadn\'t met him personally but it wasn\'t too hard to figure out who most of the masters were.

She looked into the door and saw a couple of glaring red eyes, like she had seen a couple nights before. She cursed under her breath again, and stepped back, hoping he didn\'t attack her... Or magick her again.
Don\'t tell me he\'s going to attack a master? She asked herself silently. Even in demon mode he can\'t be that stupid!

((Just two quick notes about Neer: It\'s not immediately apparent that he\'s a dragon when he\'s in his human form, and it\'s not immediately apparent he\'s a master unless you expect masters to look to be in their teens. He could well be just a well-dressed servant, given his appearance ^^;))

Neer gave an almost delicate cough at the boy\'s response, one hand rising to his mouth in a gentle fist. The kid was totally amped up, eyes red, claws out, laughing like a maniac... And he was about to get completely taken apart, if he chose to attack Neer. Even in his human form, the dragon packed quite a punch. He was less than worried about anything the student might do, but he did hope he wouldn\'t have to give out any "lessons" tonight.

And then he tried a staredown. Oh you did not, Neer thought, his mirror-eyes going flat as they met the student\'s own, now-red ones. Their reflective surface sent the red light back at him, making it look like Neer\'s eyes, too, held that eerie red glow.

Fortunately, another walked in just then. Sir? Neer thought, blinking. Oh that was interesting! It was rare he got called "sir" on sight. The dragon gave the girl a smile. "\'Evening, uh...?" Neer said casually, leaving the sentence hanging in a question for her name. All the while he kept his senses focused on the angry student to his side, however. It would be frankly embarrassing if the kid got a hit off on him.

Raff looked over and saw Tris, he then calmed down a bit as his claws retracted them selves and his eyes turned back to the pale form that they were and his sharp pointed teeth were out yes, but he wasn\'t going to attack now i guess the person has no harm to hurt him or anything,"Hey,your Tris,Ciery\'s sister right?" He asked her in a way much calmer tone now and he smiled a bit it wasn\'t a evil smile just a smile that Raff regularly used, well, used on Tris that is.

Raff then slowly walked up to her and then looked at that person, he looked familiar for some reason, like he had seen him somewhere but Raff just ignored it, he didn\'t even know most of the masters of any other house because he had hardly ever seen them before actually, he just sat there in front of both of them and looked at that one guy, Raff did not take his eyes off him, just in case he was going to him in anyway.

Tris tried to look at least a little innocent, not too much, she was in a school or assassins after all. But that innocence that says she wasn\'t looking for trouble... Just hungry.

"Trissa Hindrole, sir." She shrugged. She turned to Raff and smirked. "Yeah, and I see you haven\'t controled your anger, yet, demon-sorry." She added quickly. "Forgot that offended you." She gave of an actual sorry expression, though she wasn\'t really. She was still angry about the magick thing.

She glanced towards the master again and smiled, glancing towards the doorway he was in. "Am I allowed to get food or should I head back to my room?" She asked, hoping that he wasn\'t one of those picky masters who punished students for the smallest things, like sneaking of to get some food because you missed dinner for studying! Dinner two nights in a row she might have added, but then she\'d also have to add that the night before she wasn\'t studying, just simply sneaking around and looking for things to herself into trouble.

Hey, I can say I met a master that\'s dragon. The part of her mind that still held a child\'s joy thought happily. If I don\'t get expelled or something of the sort... She added cynically.

"Neat! I\'m Neer," Neer said cheerfully by way of introduction. Really, he didn\'t look or act like a master at all... And even though he didn\'t seem quite human, he might just have had some demon blood a couple generations back or something. He was a pretty normal looking guy, and unless one knew precisely what to look for in someone else\'s movements, it was hard to tell he was anything other than a happy-go-lucky servant or low-level student.

Neer just blinked dumbly at Trist. "Uh, I guess you do if someone catches you..." he responded uncertainly, raising an eyebrow at her as though she were crazy for thinking he could get her into trouble. Neer didn\'t much like playing the part of the master, so he usually just pretended to be what he looked to be - some eccentric student or servant. It made interacting with the students a whole lot more fun.

As soon as Trist\'s attention turned to Neer, he was gone. He\'d moved so quickly from where he was to where the food was that it almost looked like he could have vanished. It was really just hunger driving him, though. By the time Trist put her attention back on him, Neer was up to his elbows in the fridge, digging out a large fish he\'d caught yesterday morning. The staff had been planning on cooking it, he was sure, but he was hungry and he sure as hell wasn\'t going to starve himself just because they wanted some fish too. He could catch them more later.

"This looks good," Neer muttered to himself as he pulled the thing out, a hungry smile on his face.

By the time Fell was over there Raff was behind the fridge door already as well and suddenly came out of no where and said,"Ah,so I\'m not the only food eating savage beast now am I?" He said as he got beside Fell eating like crazy as well, wanting to actually become friends since he was a supernatural as well, and the fact that Tris, was getting on his nerves like always.

Raff Chowed down on a lot of ham, pepper jack, steak, bologna, anything that was meat or was worth eating he even chugged all of the vodka without being effected at all, he kept eating even faster then fell now.Raff was a big faster eater his stomach was like a black hole, it could eat anything, and I mean anything.

Tris walked through the now-clear doorway to sit on the counter. She wondered if she should try and sneak past the two to try and get some food, but decided that that might be a little too dangerous. So, instead she waited until they would slow down. She hoped there was enough food to last the two, but then again, this kitchen was designed to withstand a lot of people\'s empty stomachs, it should last... Hopefully.
She decided to risk it and squize in to grabe some cheese, than quickly got out again to find some crackers. She ate her small snack, which did little to help the knawing feeling in her stomach, as she waited for the two to finish filling their bottomless pits.
"Save some for me." She requested. "If it\'s not too much trouble."

Mai stood there, as if she was invisible. She frowned. Mai took a few steps forward, taking out a block of cheese and a few sticks of celery. She looked at the pigs eating the meat. She shivered. Mai was a vegetarian.

She turned and saw Tris. She kindly handed her some cheese and a celery stick.
"Pigs, listen!" Mai shouted over the loud hungery noises filling the kitchen.

((Fell\'s the handle. Neer\'s the character, Raff :p ))

Neer raised an eyebrow at Raff for the "food eating savage beast" comment. "Who\'re you calling a beast?" he asked somewhat playfully, pulling a knife out of one of the many drawers around the kitchen. Sure, he could have just torn into the thing, but he wasn\'t trying to announce that he wasn\'t human. Instead, Neer cut off the topmost layer of scales, then dug in from there. He used the knife to cut out strips of meat, but just ate with his hands beyond that one. Neer wasn\'t patient enough to grab a fork.

She just going to eat that? Neer wondered as he glanced at Tris. At her request, though, he realised what was up. The dragon glanced over to where Raff was tearing through food like a madbeast, then back to Tris. "Want me to grab you something?" he asked politely, though his eating didn\'t slow much. You didn\'t really stop a hungry dragon from eating.

One of Neer\'s eyebrows ticked when Mai addressed him as "pig", however. He took another big bite of his fish, then turned to her with an all too mask-like cheerful expression on his face. There was a momentary sensation of blurring, almost, and then Neer was just to Mai\'s side, his back to her and his head tilted back to look at her.

"Pig?" he asked, the false-cheer still in his voice. "You really should be more polite." Neer almost floated backwards as he spoke so that, by the end of his words, he was facing her. "Got it?" the dragon asked sweetly, his mirrored eyes bordering on dangerous. He wouldn\'t hurt the students, no, but nor would he let them get away with calling him a "pig". Neer took insults seriously.

There was another blurring sensation, and Neer was perched happily back on the counter, looking for all the world as though he hadn\'t done anything. "Now, what was it you wanted?" he asked, his voice back to normal. Of course, there was no way they would take him for a servant now, but that was alright. He still might be a defiant student or something. Neer just couldn\'t have let it go.

Tris chuckled slightly at the sight of the two men attacking the food, taking no surivors. "He\'s right there, Raff." She said when Neer had retorted his savage beast comment. "You look more the beast than him." She smiled as she ate one of her crackers.

She turned her attention towards the dragon(she doesn\'t know he\'s a dragon) when he asked if he could get her anything. "Nah, I\'ll just wait \'til it\'s less dangerous. There should be plenty of food, after all you two aren\'t the only..." She paused for a moment as if trying to remember something. " \'food eating savage beasts\' in the school."

Trissa couldn\'t help but be slightly amazed at his almost blurring movements, and watched quietly as he talked to Mai about the whole pig business. She had started to think that she had mistaken him for a different person when thinking him a master, or that her mental list of teachers and masters and such was wrong. But he was certainly no servant, and Tris believed that if he was a student he was several levels higher than she. She had no doubt that he could easily best her in any sort of fight, mental, verbal or physical. Though it didn\'t really matter, not yet at least.

"As I said before, I can easily wait until it\'s safe to get some food, which won\'t be very long. But if you insist I was thinking about a nice steak." Tris\'s smile had reappeared the moment Neer had perched himself on the counter.

He got angered by Mai\'s comment of calling him a "pig", "Pig!" Raff shouted and then his hair flew back revealing the Dark Elven Mark of War on his face by accident, but he didn\'t pay attention to it,"I\'m a Half Demon and you will respect that, thank you." Raff said that calmly controlling his anger and putting his hair back in place quickly, and he kept eating beside Neer, and whispered,"You know,I have seen a lot of things, and you my friend are no slave that is for sure, your too strong, and I know your not human so go ahead and tell me." He asked as he just swallowed 3 fished whole down his throat, with his sharp pointed teeth.

Mai was startled by the ruckus she\'s caused. She felt herself blushing and her confidence shrinking. She turned to Tris.
"Defensive, huh?" Mai whispered silently. Maii glanced at the two boys eating like there\'s no tomorrow. Mai\'s thoughts were racing through her head.
Why do they get respect and give me nothing? They treat me like dirt and all I did was spoke the truth. I deserve respect. This instant!

Mai stood up and walked torwards Dragon and Raff.
"I\'m not giving you the respect until you give me the respect I deserve. I demand you guys think about this!" Mai\'s emotions were hard to read. There was anger, control, sadness, blah blah blah. So many emotions could make you dizzy. Most of them were portrayed on Mai\'s face, but other\'s were hidden.

Tris snorted lightly as she overheard Raff\'s comment to Neer. Well, don\'t we like pointing out the obvious? She thought to herself, but didn\'t say anything aloud.
"There\'s a lot of defensive people in this school, and the only real problem is, most of them will kill you for offending them." She answered Mai\'s comment. "So it\'s best if you watch what you say, you just might offend somebody who\'s tougher than you, which is always just not cool." But her slight grin turned into a laugh as she snapped about respect.

Demand? Tris asked herself in thought. "You\'re one of those defensive people." She muttered under her breath. Remember what I said about watching what you say... She added silently, but did not say it aloud. She didn\'t bother to tell the girl that Neer, at least, could rip her to shreds if he wanted to. Even if he wasn\'t what she first thought him to be, he was still tougher than any person in this room.

Half demon explains a lot, Neer thought. The dragon didn\'t think the boy meant "demon" in the more colloquial sense, either - no, he seemed to be half true-demon, hell bred and all. Greeeaaaat, the dragon continued with a roll of the eyes. Half-demons and other demonblooded could turn out very powerful, sure - if they cold learn to control themselves. This one was definitely still working on it.

Neer was frankly confused by the half-demon\'s words. "Of course I\'m not a slave. There aren\'t any slaves here," he said carefully, looking at the other as though he might be a little slow. All part of the fun, though he did sort of wonder...

And then Mai made her outburst. Sometimes I forget how annoying students can be when it gets late, the master thought, slightly peevish at this point. "Want respect, huh?" Neer asked, his tone normal. He sunk his teeth into another strip of fish. "Earn it." Simple, true advice. Demanding respect in such a shrill manner was a sure way to get people to think of you as childish.

"Plus," Neer added, gesturing to Tris, "she\'s right. There\'re plenty of people here who\'ll kill you if you\'re not careful. Make sure you know who you\'re picking fights with." More simple advice. Still, it seemed like she needed it. Of all the students in the room, Neer thought he\'d have to give green-haired mortal the prize for most street-savvy.

"Hey,Neer, out of all the people in this school your one of the coolest, you think just like me, so you have my respect and friendship." Raff told him with a smile chomping on some meat, and then downing some kind of drink, he didn\'t know what the it was but he drank it anyway, and after he said that comment to Mai, Raff started laughing, well rephrase, not laughing just chuckling he thought it was hilarious.

Soon he moved the hair out of the way of his left eye, forgetting about the Dark Elven Mark for"War" on it, it was put on him by his father, his father was hoping it would make the demon part of him stronger, and make him stronger as well, his father wanted him to be one of the best Assassin\'s ever made.Which his father always tried to mold Raff into something he wanted and not something Raff wanted.

Raff quickly downed 3 hams in 20 seconds, and then opened a drawer, full of cookies and ate about 3 of them, moving back beside Neer, eating again out of the fridge flicking his tail back and forth, and staying right beside him, he then looked at Neer, wondering why would someone so powerful dress like a regular student? He himself could not be a student."So,Neer why do you dress like a student, there is no way someone as powerful as you could be a student?" Raff asked him as he ate another fish and even the bones for some reason.

Tris, seeing that the fight for the the food had slowed down enough and wasn\'t quite as dangerous, slide from her position on the counter and casually gestured Raff to give her some room so she could get some food. She had decided against a steak, instead she pulled out lettuce, tomato, three different types cheeses, bacon, ham, turkey, salami, and some other odds and ends of food, pulled them out and dumped them all on the counter. She went in search of a sub roll and a bread knife, after finding those she set on her quest to make herself a good sized sub.

Tris cocked an eyebrow as Raff spoke. He said the same thing about Ciery, too. Anybody who didn\'t call him a freak was cool. I guess it meant something if that\'s how you thought everybody saw you. She put everything away without a word, and jumped back on the counter slowly eating her sub.

Neer was pretty surprised when Raff made his proclamation - he\'d picked up the half-demon\'s name when one of the girls had addressed him. That Raff knew his name, though, was even more of a surprise. He was sure he hadn\'t given it... Neer\'s suspicions were aroused immediately. One of the things he\'d learned in his time was simply that danger could come from even the most unexpected places. An unruly, low-level "student" could be an enemy assassin in disguise. Neer made a note to keep an eye on Raff. Perhaps it was paranoid, but at higher levels, paranoid was what kept you alive. Raff and the rest of these students would learn it eventually. Or die, Neer added with a sigh. So many did.

"Well, thanks," Neer said in response, sounding genuine and belaying none of what had gone on in his mind. "It\'s always nice to make a new friend." That much, at least, was true. Neer continued eating while Raff grabbed some more food, watching him carefully when he walked back over to seat himself beside Neer.

What? the dragon thought, first blinking, then laughing. "You haven\'t met many of the higher-level students, have you?" Neer asked after calming himself. A lot of the first-levels, or even second- or third-levels could pull off what he\'d just done. They probably couldn\'t pull it on each other, but on seventh-levels? It wouldn\'t be so hard for a savvy student. "A lot of them can do stuff like that. You\'ll see when you get up there," Neer added with a smile.

"So, Raff," Tris started in a friendly manner. "You seen Ciery lately?" She asked. "She didn\'t go to lessons yesterday, I was wondering if you knew where she was." She shrugged as if she didn\'t care. It was subtle teasing, but she just loved poking at the half-demon. She knew very well he didn\'t like her, and it wouldn\'t take much for her to anger him, but it was still fun to see how he would react. If he didn\'t then she would probably get a little more blunt.

"I\'m sure they can," she said the Neer. "After all, they\'ve been practicing for an awfully long time." She leaned back and finished her sub in two large bites. "So, how long you been here?" She asked the dragon.

"Oh, she was hanging out with me all day." Raff said as he chuged a whole pitcher of water, "She just left my dorm actually, she is probably back at her room, I was going back to hers anyway to see what was up, but I had to get me a snack." Raff said as he found a big thing of Sasauge! he then gobbled that down like there was nothing in the world to eat, and he just found a stash someone left behind, he devoured it with great fury, lots of fury, even more fury then a lion attacking a tiger over the last gazel in a jungel.

She was in his dorm... He\'s heading up to hers? Tris asked herself silently. "Right." She giggled a little. She had many comments come to mind but swallowed them, she wouldn\'t say them in front of these two. She didn\'t want to get her ass kicked in "public" was more derict to the point. But he would hear them sooner or later.

Still hungry she got up and went back to the fridge to start pulling out random pieces of food until she had as reasonable sized pile. "I hope we don\'t drain their food supply." She joked. "I need something left over for tomorrow." She grabbed her food and went back to her seat and started to eat.

How long... Neer thought, pausing for a second. Did he even remember? It would take some counting if he wanted to figure it out. In the end, he just shrugged. "Long enough to know my way around," Neer said casually. He knew it wasn\'t really an answer, but he didn\'t feel like counting, or telling the truth even if he did. "What about you guys?" he asked in return.

Then the girl started asking about someone named "Ciery" as though she and Raff had something going on. The dragon raised an eyebrow, a sly grin creeping onto his face. "Are you two dating?" Neer asked, his voice simple curiosity. He\'d filed the name "Ciery" away in his memory as well. The dragon would be looking up all these students later on. If Raff was involved with this "Ciery", then Neer was curious about her as well.

Plus, neither of them should be skipping class.

Neer looked around the kitchen, mostly at the mess they made. "I\'m sure they\'ll have enough food for the morning. We will have to clean up, though," the dragon said, his voice hinting that they didn\'t have much of an option about that one. If they\'d made the mess, they would have to clean it up. It wasn\'t fair to make the servants do it after-hours.

((OOC: Yo, any of you guys mind if I play two characters?(I already know you don\'t, Raff) Cause I\'m considering doing that.))

Tris was about to comment on his carefully said answer when she suddenly start to laugh. "What me and him? Hell no! Sorry, I\'m not into guys who try to kill me for no reason." She leaned back. "Nah, he likes screwing my sister instead." She wondered how Raff would react to her blunt accusion.

"They might... But they sure as hell will notice a gap in their pantry." She chuckled lightly and shoved some dinner leftovers in her mouth cold. "Gah! This stuff is horrible!" She said in disgust as she took another bite.

Raff, then threw a needle filled with posin at Tris when she said that, missing her on purpose. "Hah, Hah.." He told her, and then looked at Neer, "And No. I would not go out with a damned asshole like that girl Tris over there. And yes I\'am dating her sister, plus she was in my dorm because she was sick, and didn\'t want anyone annoying her, and I would take time between classes to check on her. So I wasn\'t skipping." He told him, as he started cleaning the area already before anyone else did, he already had gotten pissed my Tris\'s comment.

Raff swept off the counters, swept the floor, and cleaned up around the counters. He then placed everything back where it was, thinking about killing her the whole time, but decided not to. He didn\'t want to much sisns to carry around. He then though to himself, maybe I do like screwing your sister..but at least she is not a whore like you Tris, plus. She was sick this time.

Raff kept thinking this because it was true, he then tried to look at a picture on the wall and couldn\'t see it, so he then pulled the hair back covering the elven mark for "War" on his face, as it was wide open. He didn\'t give a care who saw it anymore. He really didn\'t, he was pissed and didn\'t care.

Tris started to laugh at his response. "Oh, gods Raff, you are so gullible!" She commented leaning back. Sick... Yeah I believe that. She thought but decided not to tell him, he looked kind of pissed off and she didn\'t want to make it worse.

She shrugged. "Plus, he hates me." She added to her earlier answer. "I don\'t really know why... And he\'s got a slight anger issue. Like, he turns into this big ass demon thing whenever you really make him angry!" She said as she watched him clean the room and cocked an eye as his mark showed. Unlike Clearia she wasn\'t interested in it, thinking it was just another weird tattoo.

"You really should relax a bit... Take a joke." She suggested, knowing she really shouldn\'t have, it wasn\'t wise to push a half-demon that was angry and already hated you... Though she was curious as to why he hated her. It didn\'t bother her at all, she was just curious.

Neer finished off his fish, then began cleaning up the mess he\'d personally made. It wasn\'t big; the dragon was actually fairly neat when it came to eating, despite what one might think. "I didn\'t mean you two," Neer said with a grin. You don\'t smell like you are at all, and he sure doesn\'t seem to like you, he thought, but elected not to mention any of that out loud. "I meant you and... Ciery?" Neer paused, pretending to think about the name for a moment before shrugging. "Guess you\'ve answered that one, though," he added with a wink.

Big ass demon thing? Neer thought, quirking an eyebrow both at the description and at Raff\'s "war" marking. It was an interesting choice. Neer wondered why he\'d chosen it, and why he hid it. Still, those were matters of simple curiosity. "You can actually shapeshift?" Neer asked curiously, looking at the half-demon as he cleaned. The guy sure seemed angry...

"You\'re going to have to learn to control your anger," the master said, noting how the boy practically vibrated with it. A good assassin couldn\'t afford to be out of control, ever. "Emotionless" was a bit of a stereotyped extreme, but Neer wasn\'t preaching that. This guy would definitely need to learn how to keep his cool, though, no matter what house he was in.

Raff then glared over at him with one eye as he saw his mark. He then looked back down, his anger was kind of rising, but he was controlling it. He then tokk out his vial of medicine, which helps him controll it. He has to take this does, or it\'s a less chance of him ever controlling it, he then listened to Neer\'s question as he asked if he could shape shift. Raff laughed at that question in a evil manner, and manicaly.

Raff then turned his head all the way toward Neer, as his teeth were showing, and that longue tongue of his flopped out as he licked his lips, he then replied to Neer in a very low, but polite voice that sounded as it had a bit of anger, "Well, no not shape shifting. For some reason, the demon blood in me is strong than my human blood. So the first step is my eyes changing, my claws sharper, and my hair gets longer by a bit." Raff then nodded his head, and cleared his throat and told them more by saying. "And then when it really controls me, my hair gets past my back, and I gorw some horns, and my teeth grow sharper and longer, and my claws get 3 inches longer and I have darker eyes and my nails are 5 inches longer..."

He cleared his throat once more and then explained something to himself in as mumble, "And my dad gave me this mark, hoping it would make me stronger." He told him in a logical voice, going back to cleaning the counter.

Tris, too, cleaned up her share of the mess, though it wasn\'t much. Then leaned back and listened as Raff explained about his demon changing how he looked when he became angry enough... And of his vial. She decided this was important information and would keep it in mind, for what? She did not know, but it could be useful.

"See?" She shrugged. "Big ass demon thing." She opened a cabnit to see what was inside and pulled out what looked to be some sort of snack food that they had inbetween classes. She started to eat once again.

"He thought it would make you stronger..." Tris cocked an eyebrow. She wondered if his father was blind, and couldn\'t see the big sharp pointy teeth. But she decided not to ask him, it might make him angrier, and since he was already angry she judged that that would be a slightly bad idea.

Neer listened to Raff\'s description with impartial interest. Demi-shifting, sounds like, he thought, interested. The evil laughter that had prefaced it had kind of irked Neer, but he could live with it. Still, the dragon was more and more of the opinion that this was a kid who needed some very strict structure to his emotional life. I should look into getting him a personal tutor, the master thought. It would probably help.

It was interesting how Raff answered questions Neer hadn\'t asked. The dragon turned his attention to Tris. "There\'s a lot of power in runes, actually. I don\'t think that\'s one of them, but the idea isn\'t so unusual - or unlikely," Neer said with a bit of a smile. "We actually have some runecasters here. They\'re pretty quiet about it, though." Wislytig was the one he was thinking of - the one with the specialty of teleportation and translocation. It was dead useful when one was going on a mission far away.

"It\'s probably a good thing that isn\'t a real rune, though," Neer added, speaking to Raff again. "If it were... well, runic magic is tricky. A \'war\' rune would be..." Neer paused for a moment, looking upwards as he thought, "...bad." A simple, concise and entirely true conclusion.
Title: Re: Hungry in the night....

Tris had very little interest in their conversation, though she skillfully hid it. She really couldn\'t care less about runes! Damn, he sounds like a master! She thought to herself. How does he know about the runes if their all-so hush-hush about it? Well, he\'s obviously been around for awhile. Tris thought he acted sort of stiffly sometimes, but she knew some people were just sticklers on some things. Like Ciery when it came to being strong... She had even considered relationships weak, now look at her! Ha!

"Bad? Really? In what way?" Trissa asked, her interest finally entering upon their conversation. SHe was always interested in things that "could be... Bad". "What would him having a war rune do?" She decided to be a little more specific with her question, her curiosity clearly showed within her eyes.

Raff knew something was a miss...how could a regular student know so much about runes? Raff knew this guy wasn\'t a student at all, he had to be a master of some sort, or apprentice...High Apprentice maybe. Hmmm....so it seems you know lots about runes huh Neer? Raff thought to himself in his mind, as he pondered that question for a bit. He knew something just wasn\'t right at all. Then when Tris said, "He thought it would make you stronger...?" Raff got angered. He loved his father a lot he was the demon in the family. He didn\'t know what kind becasue he didn\'t really pay attention. But still, that question angered him as he growled at Tris.

"Enough about my father Cretain!" He yelled at her and snarled, looking back at this counter near him, he then started rubbing one of his nails on it. Not scratching it, just slowly rubbing it in a circular motion as he thought of Ciery...Hope your still not sick. He thought to himself, and then looked at Tris again. Why is she such a bitch? He thought to himself, and laughed at it quietly, and then just kept looking at the counter, eating a cookie in his pocket.

Neer thought about Tris\' question. What would being inscribed with "war" do to you? "Probably change either how you acted or how other people reacted to you.... Or effect how things happened around you. I don\'t think it\'s been done... At least, I\'ve never been taught about it," the dragon said thoughtfully. None of this was particularly opaque to anyone who\'d taken a class in runecasting, and Neer himself offered one to students 3rd level and up. He realised, of course, that there was little chance they\'d think him just a servant, but Neer doubted they would be able to conclude him a Master.

Then again, I do think they underestimate our high-level students, Neer thought, remembering how surprised they\'d been at his little display earlier. They probably didn\'t spend much time around higher level students, though - they were still pretty low in the rankings. Nothing wrong with that; it just effected who they saw and spent time with. They\'d get there eventually.

"Oh, be polite," Neer chastised gently when Raff shouted at Tris. It was mostly the "cretin" part Neer objected to. Certainly, had they been in a class of his, Raff would be in quite a bit more trouble - but the fact of the matter was they were all out of bed late at night, sneaking snacks in the kitchen. Neer wasn\'t responsible for them at the moment, nor even on duty as a role model. He wasn\'t going to do more than give a gentle rebuke. That much, at least, was simply in his nature.

"Oh, shut up!" Tris rolled her eyes at Raff. "You know, you\'ve got to stop taking offense to every little thing people say." Gods, he\'s annoying! She thought as she listened to Neer\'s explanation of the War Runes.
"That\'s it?" She asked slightly disappointed. "No bizerk behaviors or anything?" It was mostly a joke, she liked saying almost random things to see how people reacted to try and judge a character out of them.

No matter his attire, she knew this man to be no servant or lower student. He was at least 3rd level or maybe even an instuctor or master or something, though she doubted that. A master wouldn\'t let her out past curfew, especially wouldn\'t stop and chitchat. So, she supposed he was a high level student, though why a high level student would stop and talk with 7th levels was beyond her, especially one who probably wasn\'t going to advance any time soon... Who might even drop out soon. But he probably didn\'t know that, unles he was a master or teacher or something after all.

Her train of thought was interrupted by his rebuke to Raff\'s yelling and she cocked an eyebrow. "Don\'t worry \'bout it, he\'s done worse than yell. Nearly killed Molly, my sister, the other night, though if she was better prepaired she probably could have kick his butt!" She chuckled slightly. "I have enough sense to stay out of fights, it could ruin my outfit." She laughed shortly at her own small joke.

Raff justr walked to the other side of the room, and stayed away from the two. He wasn\'t going to probably talk much anymore, he only like to talk to Ciery. And when she said that about Molly, he thought. pffft...could have killed her, if I wouldn\'t have let her back up. Next time I will break her arms, and legs before she gets a chance to do anything. He was now thinking, and thoughtfully talking to himself. He then had an evil smile when he thought of pushing Tris off a clift. But, he then stopped and laughed as he thought of it, he stared at Neer and thought. Yes, he is a master no doubt. He has to be...no way he couldn\'t. Besides, he knows way to much about runes to be a regular student.

Raff kept this to himself, and then just looked away from the two, staring at the wall and then the pantry. He then got some weird looking kind of food out of the pantry, he sniffed it and waved his tail back on forth. He then licked, and ate it right away and went back to laying down...he about fell asleep but since Tris was in there he probably though she would try to kill him, even if Neer was in here.

"Berserk behaviors neither guaranteed nor excluded," Neer responded playfully, grinning. Tris was rather amusing. "You know, if you\'re interested in runes you should just take the course in them. They\'re cool," the dragon continued. They sure were. Neer had never gotten a permanent rune, though - those could be dangerous. Temporary runes, however, could be dead useful, even if potentially messy when done by someone inexperienced.

Neer believed it when Tris said he\'d done worse than yell, but that still didn\'t make the action alright by him. The black-haired boy just shrugged, still swinging his legs. "Maybe, but it\'s still rude," he pointed out. Maybe Neer should have been more worried about Raff\'s attack on Tris\' sister, but students attacking each other was anything but unusual here at the Academy. And yes, sometimes they killed each other. Many masters considered it a part of the training. While Neer thought that the competition and need to be on one\'s toes was beneficial, he didn\'t agree with those masters that condoned killing between the students.

I\'ll keep an eye on him, Neer thought, watching Raff as he pulled something out of the pantry, ate it, and lay down on the counter to... Go to sleep? the master thought incredulously, eyes widening slightly. "Smart girl," Neer murmured to Tris, though his eyes were still trained on Raff. A moment passed, and then Neer pointed to the half demon. "Is he going to sleep?" the master asked, his surprise showing. Neer wasn\'t bothering to hide it.

Tris watched Raff with a mild interest, like somebody watching others whilst on a walk. She wondered what her sister saw in him but a berzerk uncontrolled, and with no disrespect, half-demon. But that really wasn\'t any of her business, she was just there to get on their nerves. With him I don\'t even have to try! He hates my guts, but hey, so do many other people. She thought with a mental shrug before turning back to Neer as he spoke.

"What? Another course? You have got to be kidding me!" Trissa protested. "I have enough courses as it is. It wouldn\'t really be worth it." She added after a moments thought. "I\'ll probably be flunking out soon, so why bother?" She asked with a cock of her head.

"Maybe, but it\'s still rude,"
"So\'m I." Tris shrugged. "And as long as my life\'s not in danger, it doesn\'t bother me. And if it doesn\'t bother me, it really shouldn\'t bother you." She said truthfully. He didn\'t bother her. Actually, he rather amused her. She usually could find reasons why people hated her, but him, no reason that she could think of at all. It was interesting.
Ignoring the comment about being smart, which she slightly doubted. She was trained, not smart. "I very much doubt it. He thinks I hate him for some odd reason." She paused for a moment. "Probably thinks I\'d kill him why he\'s asleep." She added just to see what Raff would say about it.

Raff didn\'t say anything, he just shrugged, and was calmed down. He started throing a can in the air, and smacked it hard with his tail, and it flew in the trash can. He then walked over towards Tris, and huged her. Not a "I love you " hug, just a "Sorry." kind of hug. He then backed off quickly hating himself for doing it and said to her, "Sorry, for being mean to you all this time. Just thought you hate me..." He told her as he looked down.

He then walked over to Neer, and bowed to him and then walked back to his corner. It was an "I apologize." kind of bow. For some reason he actually felt bad about something. He then layed down, and acted like he was asleep, and silently; and secrectly pulled out 3 poisoin needles. Just incase one of them tried to jump him in his sleep....he didn\'t want to take any chances.

With that kind of an attitude... Neer thought wryly. Tris wasn\'t the first student he\'d met who was sure they\'d flunk out. Most of the students here seemed convinced they would at some point or another. "You never know," the dragon said with a shrug. "Besides, it wouldn\'t be available to you yet. If you\'re still here, take it when you reach third or second level." They would have many more elective options then. It helped that they were more used to the place, too.

"Everyone here is either paranoid or dead, it seems," Neer responded, looking over at Raff. He watched as the halfbreed rose, approached Tris and... hugged her? I did not see that one coming, the master thought, eyebrows raised in surprise. Neer was further shocked by Raff\'s bow to him. Both of the gestures had seemed apologetic. Bizarre, the dragon concluded, watching the subtle shift of Raff\'s shoulders after he\'d lay down. It made the master grin; it really was a good idea to sleep armed.

Still, Neer wasn\'t going to let him sleep in the kitchen. "If you\'re that tired, back to the dorms with you," the black-haired creature said, gesturing to the exit with a thumb. Actually, if everyone\'s done eating here, they should all be headed to bed, Neer thought reasonably. He didn\'t have much of a problem with people sneaking out for food, but that didn\'t mean he thought they should stay up all night either.

"Tris, unless you\'re planning on eating any more, that\'s you too," Neer said, looking at the human. Though he both appeared and sounded friendly, there was a certain air about him - one that implied that he was giving them the option only because it was polite, and that it really wasn\'t much of an option at all. "It\'s getting late, and you\'ll both have class in the morning. If you\'re worried about flunking out - " the master gave Tris a grin - "then you don\'t want to be spending late nights out." Neer himself planned to go to bed as soon as he got the other two back to their dorms. The dragon wasn\'t usually hypocritical.

Tris snorted with a roll of her eyes. "I could probably graduate, but why bother?" She shrugged. "I don\'t wanna be an assassin!" She didn\'t bother explaining why she was here in the first place, but probably would if he asked, she didn\'t care much about it. She absently reached out and grabbed and box of crackers and started to eat them, she wasn\'t hungry anymore, she just didn\'t feel like sitting still.

"Better paranoid than dead." Tris commented, she might have said more but was completely taken off guard when Raff hugged in apology. "What the hell was that for?" SHe asked out of shock more than anything else. Trissa shook her head as he bowed and laid back down. "Gods, you\'re random, Raff."
