“I’ll think about it,” Ichabod said quietly at her offer, although he didn’t think that he should really start working at the hospital. He loved being with Mandy, but maybe working in the same place would be too much, but that he could get past he was sure. It was also that science-y type subjects had never been a strong point for the teen, he was going to be a history major at university, so he probably wouldn’t be very good at the job. That and it sounded so much more final than working as an office bitch.

Ichabod did as she suggested and shut his eyes after slipping off his glasses and he nuzzled his face into the crook of her shoulder and her neck, loving the smell of her hair and skin and trying to ignore the fact that his body felt a little tingly after coming so close to release and then being stopped. It was very peculiar, but it was worth it to stop things from getting too complicated or ruined so quickly.

Mandy fell asleep shortly after Ichabod snuggled in close, relishing in the warmth his body emitted while privately thanking her good fortune for his continued influence in her life. She wasn`t sure what the coming weeks would bring for them; be it a budding relationship or untimely falling out. All the female knew for certain, was she was going to put forth an honest effort to make them work.

Kerr didn`t love her – he didn`t want her… he didn`t need her. To cling to that would be foolhardy at best and doing a great disservice to not only Ichabod, but herself. She had to give it a try. If it failed, well – there was always the other option. But hopefully, it would never have to come to that.

“I love you, Ichabod.” She whispered as she slowly drifted off, comforted by her best friends touch and the security of his arms. “See you in the morning.”

“I love you too,” Ichabod murmured before quickly falling asleep. It seemed so much easier to relax now that he was beside her and didn’t have to feel awkward about holding her. Ben would be leaving the country the next night and so Ichabod wouldn’t have to worry about that for a while. Now all he needed to do was keep Mandy happy so that she wouldn’t try to become a vampire. That wasn’t always that easy though…
