The beast in Dee’s belly was now hiding in the corner with its tail between its legs, a defeated stance. In the beginning, he had been so bold and sure but now, it was the complete opposite. There were so many conflicting emotions running through his head, it brought a tear or two to his eyes. Dee angrily palmed them away. He didn’t want to be caught crying again.

Dee stopped. He would have kept going if it weren’t for Blake jumping in front of him and taking hold of his wrists. He didn’t understand-no. He didn’t want to understand, why couldn’t he just take his leave? Was it really that hard to ask? Dee shook his head, attempting to rid the locks which obscured his vision. Dee wished Blake wouldn’t make those faces because then it caused him to think, ah, ‘certain thoughts’. And these ‘certain thoughts’ were distracting, they also brought back memories from the trip to the forest. Running fingers through his golden-red locks, a sigh escaped his lips. It appeared that Dee was not going to leave. Not yet anyway.

The squire looked over his shoulder, his features darkening upon seeing Robin. Quickly, he returned his gaze to Blake. Dee wasn’t sure what quite to say or do, all that he knew that his hand was hurting a lot.

Blake frowned when he saw what looked like tears in Dee’s eyes. He hadn’t expected this to be that upsetting for the boy. Blake just wanted to make him a little jealous to get back at him. It was just harmless flirting after all, it wasn’t as if he was fucking Robin right there in front of Dee. He stared up at Dee, trying to understand his thoughts. After a moment, he went on his tiptoes and gave a quick peck on the boy’s cheek.

“It’s okay. I haven’t replaced you yet.” Blake said softly in a tone that was too gentle and simple for what the words were saying. He ran his hands up the other’s arms before bringing them around Dee’s waist to hug the squire.

Robin was entirely confused now. He walked over but kept a couple feet away from the boys. Placing a hand on his forehead, he tried to make sense of it all. At first he thought Dee was just a friend, then maybe one of Blake’s temporary best friends. But now, maybe there was more to it. He knew those looks Blake was giving, and he knew what that those wandering hands and hug meant. A deep sigh left his lips. There was no way that any archery was going to be concentrated on today.

After considering options, he cleared his throat, “If I may,” He began politely, “Squire Dee, what is your assigned knight’s name?” Robin kept his eyes on the boys, his expression now rather serious.

Dee felt for pathetic for crying, hypocritical too. Why should he be crying over such a silly situation? In the past, he has done such things… but then again, at the time, his hand hadn’t been throbbing with pain. Oh and plus the fact he still feels ashamed two weeks previously for making Julius upset, oh Talon, what a month this has been! It will be a great relief when this one ends, yes it will. Hopefully, the next one wouldn’t be as dramatic but for some reason, Dee doubted it. It might be just as chaotic, or maybe even more so! Oh God, just the thought of it being more chaotic drove shivers down his spine.

Dee laughed, louder than intended. What Blake had just said, he found it quite amusing, mainly because of soft and sweet the voice was. Even though they were in the public, Dee didn’t waste any time to return to the embrace.

His eyes only narrowed when hearing a familiar voice arise. He had almost forgotten that Robin was here. Dee turned around, reluctantly loosening his grip on the Blake, he didn’t want to let go. “Why do you care?” He growled, gritting his teeth slightly. Julius didn’t need any more stress, especially caused by his squire. Dee looked back at Blake then back at the archery instructor. Blake would most likely inform Robin if he didn’t. “Julius Brodwick. If you stress him out, I’ll kill you.” His odd eyes glinted maliciously, “I will.”

Blake enjoyed the hug. It had been far too long since he last embraced Dee. The boy made the most of it as he nuzzled his face against the other’s neck. He had almost forgotten where he was. When Robin spoke up, Blake jumped back from Dee. A bright almost uncharacteristic blush was on the boy’s face showing embarrassment. He instantly replaced it with a small pout.

Robin glanced at Blake before looking at Dee. He crossed his arms once more over his chest as the boy growled at him. Raising a thin eyebrow, he clicked his tongue in habit towards the boy’s tone. He was about to give Dee the reason why he should hand over the knight’s name, but Dee came to his senses without any persuasion.

“Brodwick, Julius.” He searched his thoughts to try and figure out if he knew the name. Robin might have seen it on the list for tournaments a while back, but he didn’t delve too deeply into the matter. At Dee’s threats, Robin waved his hand in a small little flick at the wrist, “Oh, Squire Dee, don’t use such harsh words. Adora wouldn’t approve of it.” He glanced back at Blake before walking over to the equipment. The instructor picked up Blake’s bow and quiver, “Well, come along boys. It seems that you two will not be concentrating on archery, so we’ll go on a trip instead.” He turned back to smile brightly at the boys.

Dee’s eye narrowed. Adora? Adora! Ugh! Even though not very religious, the boy detested Adora and those who followed her. They were pathetic, they were cowards and just terribly annoying people. And it was hard to believe that an Archery instructor followed the goddess considering marksmanship could be considered a deadly sport.

“Lucky for me, I follow Talon.” He replied testily, folding his arms. Dee remembered a vaguely, when he was very young… the memory had never failed to make him laugh. His mother had gone to the farmer’s house, knocked on the door and once it opened, she had yelled “Adora is a slut!” Dee giggled but quickly stifled it behind his fingers. Hopefully, he had managed to make it sound like a silly cough.

“Are we going to see Julius?”  Dee asked, looking back at Blake. That hug had been great, he wanted to do it again…but thanks to Robin, that wasn’t possible.

Blake looked up at Dee, a grin on his lips. He sniffed lightly, “I follow Talon too.“ He responded to the boy, his hand reaching out to grasp Dee’s. Blake didn’t care too much what Robin would think. After all, Blake had rumors on Robin that would give him no place to speak on the issue. He pulled on Dee’s arm a little bit, glad that the other boy wasn’t being as irritated.

Robin easily picked up Dee’s equipment too, holding both of them. It was obvious he was an expert in carrying many quivers and bows. His gaze glanced at the joined together hands before looking at Dee. He smiled, “Perhaps.” Robin began to walk across the field.

Blake automatically followed his instructor, pulling Dee along. Robin’s step was just as light and bouncy as before almost as if the man was skipping. He glanced over his shoulder “So Squire Dee, where would your knight, Julius, be at this time?” The instructor wasn’t going to let Dee get out of this. He wanted to speak to the knight. Robin was well aware of the relationship between knight and squire and how much power the words of a knight to a squire would have compared to whatever he said.

Dee more than gladly accepted Blake\'s hand, he even gave it a little squeeze. It wasn\'t as good as hugging, but it was better than nothing. "That\'s good." Dee replied, not taking his eyes off Blake\'s face. Even though the question of religion never came up into topic, he had a hunch that Blake was a follower of Talon and not that stupid goddess.

Dee walked forward when Blake tugged his hand lightly, he didn\'t enjoy walking so close to Robin. With his sore hand, he tucked some hair behind his ear and attempted to keep his gaze forward and that of course, was hard. Occasionally, his eyes would wonder over towards Blake.

"Hm?" Dee tore his eyes away from Blake. He had to go over the question in his mind, where would Julius at be now? "At Brodwick manor." The squire was now trying to be on his best behaviour, who knew what the archery instructor was going to tell Julius, Dee doubted it was going to be anything good. He sighed, scratching the back of his head. Julius wasn\'t going to happy. This will be the third time this month he displeased the man. Great.

Blake continued to smile lightly, his eyes meeting Dee’s wandering gaze almost every time. His curls bounced. He was quite happy with the special attention he was now getting. The boy didn’t mind skipping the archery lesson, even though he would keep in mind to remember not to go hunting with Dee until the other boy practiced archery for a while.

Robin led the group down the field and onto the main pathways. He had to ask a couple more defining questions that Dee answered compliantly. Every now and then, the instructor glanced over his shoulder at the two boys. He couldn’t help but smile lightly at how cute they seemed.

As they walked towards the Brodwick manor, Robin went over in his head what exactly he was going to tell this knight, Julius. He hoped Julius would be understanding and aware of Dee already.
