ALTERNATE: No Risk No Reward

Ben was swept up in the moment. Not planning anything other than to give into the bite, not anticipating anything beyond that would happen, thinking that there was a chance something might move beyond that was enough to keep his excitement and not intimidate him. The way Jake phrased their continuation 'see what we get up to' was perhaps the most perfect thing he could say to lead a willing Ben Samson to a room. Anything concrete would've shattered the fantasy.

"Okay," Ben readily agreed, while his mind quickly ran over the things they could probably 'get up to'.

Biting? Absolutely without question. Kissing? Yeah, he was pretty sure. Groping? Fairly likely. Undressing? A lot less likely. Sex? Probably not.

Jake untied their legs and grabbed Ben's hand instead, telling the staff he'd like a room and then being pointed towards one. He would lead Ben by the hand. The other people in the room were forgotten. It was all about Jake and Ben now. The young vampire was happy and while he was often other positive emotions, happiness was something more fleeting for him normally.

They reached the door and Jake let them in. The room was nice, and surprisingly big, with a soft bed, a couple of chairs and dark, but sexy red and blue lighting. It was exactly what they needed. There was also snack food stacked into a corner; fruit, candy, baked goods. They were meant for humans who had been fed on. Sugar was good for you when you lost blood, or so Jake had been told.

He moved them to the bed, but didn't leap on Ben, or anything close to it. He sat on the edge, fighting the urge to guide Ben into a laying position. He was excited. The moment had come.

"Before I go in for it, are you ready? Last chance to decide this was all a big mistake."

He patiently waited for his final permission. He could hear Ben's heartbeat so clearly now, a strong thump thump like the beat of a drum. He loved that sound, and would feel it in his bones the second his fangs pierced flesh.

Ben went willingly, also unaware of anyone else in the room except for Jake. Normally shy and mostly a wallflower, he couldn't contain his beaming smile as Jake led them to a room where Ben would experience - he'd heard, and hoped - something wonderful. He had no idea what it would feel like or how he would react. Pavros had told him that the bite was so good it was like floating among the clouds. Ben thought that sounded kind of zen, and figured this would be the cleanest way to get there - drug free.

And of course, it was one of the stepping stones towards his ultimate goal. Why not enjoy it while he could?

His heart was racing with his excitement and attraction as he and Jake stepped into the room. Ben turned his smile Jake's way, even though upon seeing the bed he'd been surprised. He'd thought a room for biting would be smaller and just have a couch. He blushed when he realised it was set up for more. Never mind, it was private. That's what he and Jake were after.

When Jake sat beside him, Ben couldn't keep his eyes off him. He felt absurdly childish, being with this impossibly aged being, who probably thought he was silly and immature. At least they looked the same age, and Jake was considering him for siring. Actually considering him.

It was a big deal.

At Jake's words for final consent, Ben gave a breathy laugh but then grew serious, slowly moving towards Jake and looking at his lips, wanting to seal the deal with another kiss. They were only getting better as the night progressed. A third had to be full on zinging, right?

"Yes," he whispered, unlocking the door for the beast that was Jake and allowing him to feast on Ben. He hoped Jake would kiss him first.

He did kiss him first, and to Jake it was the best one yet. It was hotter, more passionate, the kind of kiss that comes with growing attraction. He used it to lay them both down on the bed, wrapping Ben in his arms. He didn't think him silly or immature. He was beautiful and smart and a good kisser. Everything else could wait. But then the beast itself reminded Jake he needed the blood, and one of his fangs grazed along Ben's sexy lower lip as Jake moved towards his neck, kissing as he went. Then he reached the vein he'd be biting into, and with one final look at Ben he moved in.

As his fangs tasted the salt of Ben's skin, the thick hot blood began to flow into the vampire. His skin now looked alive, and he felt as warm as Ben did. His pinkness would be seen by Ben the moment he roused, and Jake quickly grabbed water and snacks, placing them before his own meal as an offering of thanks. "Is it always like that?" were the words that exited his mouth instead. He could see a juice and a bag of crisps nearby, but he could also feel Jake's hardon against him. Moving away felt rude, right at this moment. Maybe Jake would want what Ben had promised him? He pressed his lips together, holding in more words from spilling out. Best to wait for an answer first.

Jake found Ben's reaction as he woke to be confusing. He'd seemed so into it, but now seemed to regret the decision. He was embarrassed and quickly put away a shrinking erection. He scooted away enough to give Ben his space.

"People react differently. You are obviously very susceptible. I was a little surprised. I think you can expect to have similar reactions with subtle differences. It might also be that we're very compatible. You taste better than anything I've had in a long time."

He wanted to add I hope I didn't hurt you, but that was too vulnerable. He wouldn't be seen that way yet.

"I got you some snacks to replenish yourself. Eat up mister."

He rolled onto his back and stared at the room's ceiling.

Ben was comforted by the blasé explanation. Jake didn't seem to think it was a big deal. Ben had felt guilty when Jake had zipped himself back up again - should he have done something about that? His own erection slowly throbbed a sullen path to its flaccid state as well.

"I'm glad that I taste good," Ben said with a wry smile, and realised the innuendo behind his words a little too late. He pretended to have meant it all along as he unsuccessfully pretended he wasn't blushing a whole lot harder. "Thanks," he said for the snacks.

He felt lightheaded but the juice and crisps helped him. He was craving something sweet too, which was unusual for him, but he figured it was the blood loss. There was a small pack of jellybeans available and he opened that, avoiding all the black ones and eating the yellow ones first.

He moved close to Jake on the bed, not wanting to be far away from him anymore. He felt bonded with this vampire now - they'd shared something secretive (to him) and intimate.

"Do you want to know what yellow jellybeans taste like?" Ben said. They were all gone now, so there was only one way Jake could find out. Ben stared at Jake's lips.

He'd actually meant to start an intelligent conversation. Oh well.

Jake felt a wave of relief that Ben's initial reaction was not his true one, and found himself drunk off his blood and that cute little smile. Jake was glad Ben tasted good too, and would enjoy the tasty meal as long as he was one. He knew he'd already miss sucking on this boy's neck.

"You taste better than good. I don't mean to pump you up to much, but I'm normally a little more relaxed when I feed."

Ben wasn't the only one who looked a tad pink in the cheek, and when Ben started munching on his snacks, Jake just stared at him. It probably was rude to watch someone eat, but he just looked so cute doing it. Jake realized he'd kind of fallen right in, and wondered why this was happening. How had Ben affected him so?

Like a freight truck his rational self and his beast teamed up against his insecure self and knocked those thoughts right out of his head. All he had was Ben and his emotions right now, and it all pointed to good. When he made his silly comment about jelly beans, Jake had already been planning to kiss him anyway.

"Nope. You're going to need to show me." With that he moved in to let their lips touch. Their bodies would be tangled in one another again, which was something Jake was very pleased with. He felt his bulge begin to tingle again. Oh what a night this was turning out to be.

Ben liked kissing. It was one of his favourite things to do with someone he was attracted to. More often than not they would grow bored with just kissing and want to progress to something more. Depending on who it was, Ben would oblige or refuse, but the kissing would be over either way.

Lying near Jake, pressed against him and licking and nibbling lips, battling tongues, was euphoria. Ben still felt a bit lightheaded but the headache was gone. The jellybean packet was... somewhere... and his hands roamed Jake's chest, sides or back, whatever he had access to. He broke the kissing session first, if only to catch his breath, and wondered if Jake would take advantage of the break to suggest something more, or different, or maybe to tell Ben something about what was going to happen after this.

The next step.

He stared at the vampire, unable to look away from his face. It felt like he could stare at it for hours.

Jake liked kissing too, and Ben was very good at it. His hands traveled along Ben's body, learning it's curves, intricacies and feel. "Can we take our clothes off," he asked, trying to keep his voice from getting too excited. He wanted to see naked Ben. He gathered it looked real nice. He also looked nice naked, and he wanted to feel Ben's warm skin against his cool body.  Whatever next step Ben hoped to hear would have to wait. Jake had other plans.

It was a different 'next step' to what he'd been hoping for, but one he also knew might be coming. He wasn't so naive as to think Jake wouldn't request more from him. The thing was, should he give in?

He wanted to; he wanted to strip and blow and fuck and lick and do all the things. But it also cheapened this moment, somehow. If he rolled around with Jake now, how was that making him different to every other guy in this place looking for a thrill? How would that prove his worth? Why would Jake want more of that, when Ben had given up everything on the first round?

"Um..." But how could he refuse and not make it sound bad? "I don't move so fast, usually."

Putting 'usually' on the end just made it sound like Jake might have his permisson this time, if he put a bit of effort into convincing Ben. He wouldn't take much convincing either - he really wanted to please Jake, to make him happy to have met him. But then there would be nothing left, no more new experiences to look forward to.

He could hear his own breathing - panting, actually, short and light and out of breath because he was turned on. Would Jake press him for more? Maybe capture his lips and then just... undress without using more words, waiting for Ben to say 'stop'? Would he say stop?

He didn't think so. He was all about keeping Jake pleased with him.

Jake was struck. He instantly became annoyed. He had vampire blue ball brewing and it was all because of mister tease over here. Jake didn't take sexual rejection very well, but he was no rapist. Ben's words put him on ice for the moment, but it was a cold ice, and it was now staring at Ben.

It was a cruel, petty little thought, and he was glad his tongue hadn't thrown it out. His face would obviously show his disappointment, no displeasure. He caught the usually but it meant nothing to him. He'd already given Ben much more room than he normally gave boys, and his reward for it was more uncertainty.

"Well I shouldn't compromise your values then," he said, his tone not being the friendliest. He laid on his back and stared at the ceiling again. It was the first moment he'd taken his eyes off Ben since they came into the room.

Ben sat up and then straddled Jake before leaning down to kiss his lips one more time. Then his jaw. Throat. As he moved down Jake's chest, undoing his shirt buttons on the way, it was a promise of what was to come.
