Mitchelletto had made arrangements with Chtahzus'aak's staff after he received his invite, the card has just appeared in his room, a crisp smile on his face as the card passed between his fingertips. He did not want to take the old road Laurent had shown him when the first encounter failed, it would be rude and from what he had heard from the people of the hotel; Zeus was a protective man. Instead, he arranged a courier service with one of his people, even the West had been reclaimed and recently, he did not want to take the chance Jake and his spies seeing him. Taking a limo with blacked out windows would be the better way to proceed with this meeting and a change in attire. He could not bring any weapons with him, for once he needed to be good, besides stuffing what he needed too up his nose to run his blood sorcery, Mitch was sober. If it was brought up he would explain it is a bane of their clan, that was the truth, and the rare time he would tell it. He was now in Zeus's playground, even if it meant submitting to the demon's terms to get into the city; once he was in things could begin.

He wore simple button-up silk shirt, short sleeved, fitting with a simple collar, still looking professional. He wore black dress pants, flaring out at the bottom, revealing shiny dress shoes with laces tied in a neat bow. No need for a jacket as he found it might insinuate he had weapons, when the time had come he had removed himself from the building, the limo waiting on schedule, he opened the door and dipped his body inside. Nodding politely at the demon who be his companion, his eyes staring at Mitch with uncertainty.

It was a quiet ride and this one was a lot longer than taking the secret road, his eyes staring out the window, the demon did not start a conversation and Mitch just simply followed. His ankles crossed while his hands lay gently clasped in his lap, no expression on his face, but he felt alive. Everything was starting to move according to plan, and his new pet Nikolia was a nice touch to the game. He had plans for the boy once Laurent was officially done, Nikolia thought his leeches were bad, the bond the shared was far more frightening then a few shadows occupying his mind.

The limousine had arrived at The Block, a massive enclosure armed to the tits with security, no wonder no ordinary person couldn't get in or out, much less find the place. The vehicle rolled on through the gates and before long at had come to a stop, he was escorted out of the vehicle with a single finger from the demon, pointing at him to get out. He emerged slowly out the vehicle and was escorted to the reception area, it was dark and it seemed to soothe Mitch rather than scare him. The demon informed the receptionist that a scheduled appointment was here, the same woman who had been here when Laurent had brought him. He smiled politely at the lady, it was a forced smile but no one would be able to tell. The woman in return, kindly pointed towards a set of chairs in the corner and told he would called up shortly. Two large demons, in demon form, guarded the elevators just like the first time, he took his place on a chair. Crossing his right knee over his left in a casual fashion, watching the people within the room with great intensity.

Since Laurent made the mistake of bringing an unannounced visitor into the compound, Zeus had been preoccupied with many things.  Laurent continued gathering the intel that Zeus had requested of him, making brief reports whenever he had anything new to present.    It wasn't until a letter came to him that he thought of the greasy-looking vampire last seen with the other shadow demon.

Chtahzus'aak,

My deepest regards for the unfortunate events of late.  I apologize for the waste and inconvenience of your time the other night.  I wish to convey that I only seek an audience with your grace, I have information on the one called Jake McCloud.

I do not know your interest in Jake McCloud but I have had previous run-ins with the man over the years.  None too good.

If you wish to meet and find time within your busy schedule I would be most appreciative of your audience.

-M. Bansai

The gesture was appreciated, but he was dreadfully busy.  Initially, he set the letter aside and resumed with his plans.  It remained there for some time until after he had secured the district.  With his mind now firmly on how to orchestrate justice for the crimes that McCloud committed against the demons in the West District, the letter possessed renewed relevance.  A vampire's insight may prove useful enough to at least entertain a meeting.

He knew nothing of this Mr. Bansai beyond that he was associated with Laurent.  Automatically he was leery.

Chtahzus'aak had ensured that the compound was free of all but his staff for the scheduled meeting with the vampire.  He didn't want anyone to be unnecessarily uncomfortable.  The West was only freshly secured and the last of McCloud's goons cleared out of the territory.  Bansai's proactive efforts toward his own discretion were noted and appreciated.  It would've been altogether unwise to come by way of the private road, and Zeus considered this gesture a sign of respect.

He was dressed in a pair of light grey slacks and black leather belt, a well-fitted charcoal button-up with sleeves rolled to his elbows, and pair of dress boot polished to a gleaming shine.  Once he was alerted to Bansai's arrival, he went straight from his office to the first-floor lobby to receive him unaccompanied.  He was sure Brael would not be needed for this, but he was made aware of the meeting nonetheless and given the option to attend if he was feeling curious enough.

"Mr. Bansai."  Zeus' face held a polite diplomatic expression as he approached the vampire.  He held out a hand to shake.  "Please follow me into the conference room."  He took a brisk pace to the room in glass below the mezzanine, holding the door open for the vampire as he walked through himself.  Chtahzus'aak took a seat at the head of the long conference table and gestured to the chair adjacent to his, indicating that Bansai take a seat.

The description he had gotten of Chtahzus'aak did not do him justice, his gait was eerie and delightful at the same time. Taking his hand firmly and giving the leader a firm nod as he followed him to the conference room, his steps light and casual. He didn't even mind the feeling encroaching darkness that filled the room, bowing his head in thanks as the demon held the door open. Promptly sitting down when gestured to do so, his face in serious gaze as Mitch spoke to Chtahzus'aak.

"I thank you for taking precious time to see me Chtahzus'aak," he had heard many called the shadow demon Zeus. However, Mitch decided it was best to stick with his original name unless otherwise told.

"I hope this meeting will be beneficial to you and the information you seek," he was being truly modest.

Mitch did not expect protection but as his little chit chat with his failed fledge a few weeks ago, if Chtahzus'aak could veto Jakes blood hunt in his own District, it was one step closer to his goal. Mitchelletto hoped that the information he had was enough to satsify Chtahzus'aak's, or else he was back to the drawing board.

The demon nodded in response to the thanks, appreciating the effortless use of his name.  He did not enjoy listening to others stumble over or soften the first syllable.  The shortened version of his name had become a necessity.  He leaned back in his chair and gestured by opening his palms outward and toward Bansai, indicating that he had his attention.

"Most of the dealings with Mr. McCloud had been from a distance," stating truthfully to Zeus. Leaning forward in his chair, his eyes connecting with Zeus as a sign of respect, his hands clasped loosely on the table as he continued to speak.

"As a young fledge Jake betrayed the Prince of London, with the help of a woman named Lisa-Joe Hampton. Branding him as a traitor to their own blood to a faction known as the Camarilla." Giving Zeus some needed background information on the so-called Black Prince.

"In the faction called the Sabbat, he is known as a murderer. The last known settlement of vampires was killed along the coast by Mr. McCloud quite recently." This showed Zeus that Jakes past character and mannerisms had bled over into the present.

Mitchelletto would now give Zeus more recent information on Jake, one that would surely interest him. Mitch hated discussing the matter as it was a sore spot for the assassin. His eyes furrowed with discontent while his hands tightened up, his knuckles almost turning white.

"Year's back I was sent to do some recon work on Mr. McCloud, however, I was accused of murdering someone. The human had a heart condition and had I known I would not have picked him for a one night stand," this part was true. He didn't mean to kill that one, for a moment a flash of remorse showed on his face; it was a fake emotion though.

"He accused me of killing the man on purpose, he came looking for me and a fight ensued. He bested me thanks to his magical blade," Mitch then unclasped his hands and undid his shirt to show Zeus the nasty black, bumpy scar that plagued his chiselled chest

"His blade paralyzed me, it was unlike any poison I have encountered. It took months to heal and it never should have left a scar, let alone a black one. Knowing Mr. McCloud's age there is no way he should have won against me," buttoning up his shirt once again. Although he was tempted to just leave it open for Zeus, readjusting his collar, before placing his hands on the table.

"He and his friend Connor tortured a confession out of me, they would have killed me. My clan already gets a bad name, we are known as the assassin clan, but we have a code to follow." He hoped that Mitch being a trained assassin would not put Zeus on edge.

The Assimite clan, it would always be the Assimite Clan to Mitch. This new name Banu Haqim was a travesty, a show of weakness, and now his clan had foolishly joined the Camarilla. However the unfortunate matter, it did give him a way to get out of the Sabbat; there were others who did not agree to join the Camarilla and with the Sabbat leaving to fight their own elders; it just the right time to get out. Maintaining the image they were proud people, one of code and honour. Zeus could find that out easily enough about his clan; masters of gathering information and getting the job done when things got tough. If Zeus asked more about the assassin clan he still called Assimite, he would gladly tell Zeus about it.

"His staff failed to find my escape items on me when I was put in his cells. When he learned of my escape Mr. McCloud flew into a rage, he called a blood hunt on my head which extends throughout the whole city," finishing here and giving Zeus a chance to comment or digest the information he had received before Mitch continued.

Chtahzus'aak was silent while the vampire spoke, watching closely for anything in his face that would betray a different message.  The demon had been exposed to surface-level knowledge of the various vampire sects during his time as an Oligarch.  He did not care much for delving into the details--it had never applied to his needs until this point.  Most of the vampires in the city were clanless at any rate, so the information seemed superfluous.

However, the story that this Bansai offered supported the current warmongering image of McCloud.

When he showed Zeus the nasty looking scar, the demon wrinkled his nose in disgust.  This was important information to have, surely.  This must have been the blade that McCloud had taken to their meeting.  The same blade used to threaten Ben, according to his testimony at the trial.  Firsthand account was invaluable and he wanted more details.

He perked visibly at the mention of this vampire's clan.  From what little Chtahzus'aak did know, they had something of a reputation.  Assassins were useful tools, and the fact that he had escaped from wherever McCloud had him held had the potential to provide even more useful information.  But, he was hesitant to openly associate himself with the taint to the clan's namesake in the eyes of the other clans.  At any rate, he had to be careful.

When Bansai had finished speaking, Zeus leaned back in his chair and put his hands behind his head.  There was a thoughtful serious expression on his face.

A city-wide blood hunt?  On whose authority?

"McCloud has no jurisdiction in other districts, in spite of what he may believe," He shouldn't be surprised that the Brat had a history of being cocky.  Bansai's story needed more clarification, but torturing a murder suspect into a confession was just another demonstration of McCloud's inability and unwillingness to follow due process.

"Do continue."

"It was my understanding that Mr. McCloud had the backing of the other districts to enforce the blood hunt. My apologies Chtahzus'aak, " this news was interesting indeed. The rumours had been true that Jake had fallen and he had fallen hard. Mitch had to think a moment before continuing to give information on Jakes blade.

"I have a speculation that the blade bolsters his powers and age while in his hands. The blade is not entirely heat resistant either, at least not to bale-fire, perhaps one could try to melt it down with demon fire too," Mitch knew little more about the blade. His encounter with Jake had been short, although he had other information on Jake.

"Rumor has it that Jake was taken in and mentored by a man named Mithras of Sparta, a vampire older than Lazarus, who is known to be aligned as neutral evil." One of the worst alignments.

"How the two met is unclear, what is clear is Mr. McCloud stayed with him for quite some time, one could hypothesis Jake has the same values as Mithras," speculation of course.

"Mithras even has a cult that worships him, thousands of followers believing Mithras is a living God," the Anarchs followed Jake. Giving Zeus more fuel to add to the fire for his distaste for Jake.

No one really knew Jake before he had arrived in the city and his background information was a well-hidden secret, not anymore. No one knew Jake was associated with Mithras, a man who did not shed tears over those being killed for sport, convenience or profit. Now that Zeus had Mithras's name he could delve deeper into the background of Mr. McCloud, bringing his past to light in order to destroy the boy from within.

Chtahzus'aak made a mental note to look into this Mithras individual.  He did make the connection between this cult and McCloud's own zealous following.  It was interesting, something to look into for sure but the whole of it was far too convenient.  The demon narrowed his eyes slightly.

"Laurent told me you sought my protection,"  He began, leaning forward and resting his clasped hands on the edge of the table in front of him.  "I cannot openly grant this protection.  To be frank, I do not know what your motives are and I am not convinced that I can trust you."  His eye contact was steady and commanding.

For all he knew, this was some sort of bait set by McCloud.  He needed something else besides rumors.

"I think Laurents words were misguided a little. I only wanted an audience with you and if that led to protection then that would be a bonus, " appreciating Zeus's honesty early on.

It was to be expected and it didn't bother Mitch at the moment. Zeus had given him valuable information about Jakes blood-hunt not extending through the whole city, it was a step in the right direction. At least in Zeus's district, he would be safe to reenter the city, long as he played by the demons rules. Now he needed to find out whether others supported Jake, but that would be followed up at a different time.

"I do not hold that against you Chtahzus'aak we have only just met," leaning forward in his own chair to match Zeus and his posture.

"What can I do to earn your trust?" Interested in what perhaps Zeus had in mind for Mitch.

His face was expressionless and he avoided answering the question directly.

"There are a few things I would like to know."  Zeus began slowly.  "First; who sent you to find information on McCloud and why.  Second; what did you find out for them.  Third; how did you manage to escape."

There were others, but this was a start.

"My own clan placed me within the sect known as the Sabbat years ago, to gather information on several rituals performed by the vampires. While I am an assassin my specialization is being a magi, we value magical knowledge, its what drives our particular caste in the clan," something that was unthinkable until recently.

"It was here I heard whispers of a man named the Black Prince, they feared him. Soon after I was approached by an elder of the Sabbat to gather information on Mr. McCloud. Find out his weaknesses, political status, anything," leaning back in his chair no longer mimicking Zeus's posture. However he still maintained respectful eye contact with Zeus.

"I agreed. I had the authority from my elders to conduct business that would earn the trust of the Sabbat elders," Mitch had a code of anonymity and hoped that mentioning it was a Sabbat elder would be enough to satisfy the 'who' part of the question.

"What I found out was the Oligarchy had fallen, in which the Sabbat hoped Mr. McCloud no longer held any power, that his reign would come to an end," and Mitch was wrong all altogether on that front.

"Only after my capture and torture did I find out Mr. McCloud was now a district leader, and his friend Connor was his director for something called the Ward, and even sired a child," now speeding up the story to his escape.

"I used a something called Vansim, it allowed me to trick the guards in thinking I escaped. When they foolishly opened the cell I used my bale-fire to kill the guards, I grabbed a key card off one of them. I was unconscious when they brought me in but I found my way out, an abandoned building beside the White Rabbit. I haven't been back since," his visits would he more frequent now that he learned Jake had no power in this district.

"The Sabbat did take an interest in the child, especially since she just popped up out thin air. Ventrue are not known to make children out of thin air, they are carefully chosen and micromanaged," giving some insight into Jakes clan.

"However in the end it was found it would be useless to go after Jake now that he owned his own district, his power had grown and the Sabbat were scattered." It was unfortunate that someone (Kerr) had appointed the Jake to the new position, prehaps all this could have been prevented.

"Then recently the Sabbat supposedly gave up most of their domains and answered the call to go fight the Antediluvians in the near East. And most of my own sect defected to the Camarilla, I and others did not. I along with others now seek some sort of purpose again," his tone had softened but only for a moment.

Any information Bansai had on the security of McCloud's underground headquarters would now be outdated and useless to the demon.  McCloud would have undoubtedly increased his security measures after Zeus paid him a visit.  The abandoned building sparked his interest, but if McCloud was smart he would've secured that as well.  It was likely a waste of time and resources to investigate it at this point.

This magic that Bansai had access to could be useful, if he was to be trusted.  Chtahzus'aak filed that in the back of his mind for later.

"If that is the case then, why do you want access to the city again?"  His tone was level, not accusatory.  Motive was important.  If Bansai's mission was all but called off, and a supposed blood hunt had been placed on his head, why bother with the risk of reentry?

"I heard rumours that Mr. McCloud has burned a lot of bridges for his agenda, that someone is running for leadership against him. And perhaps my words would be taken more seriously now people are starting to see the true Mr. McCloud," he already knew more details than this through Nikolai but he kept his mouth shut.

"Perhaps me sharing information on Mr. McCloud would give me some direction and purpose again," it was true. Until Mitch could stroll through the city unharmed his movies were just that, for now.

"I am also interested in Mr. McCloud's new Keeper but more so the child, the Sabbat never pursued it but I am free to do so now," it surprised Mitch that Jake would ever sire a child. Jake was too much like a child himself, it was amusing to say in the least.

"Mr. McCloud's new Keeper is an old and powerful high priestess I have heard, one that is equal in power to a witch you know as Saint Sabrina. I find it awfully coincidental that Jake now has such a powerful player in his pocket, I wonder what her own motives are for joining Mr. McCloud?" Mitch was thinking aloud for Zeus and Zeus didn't have to answer his thought process.

"The fledge as I have said before just popped up out of nowhere, that child is either truly a treasure, kept selfishly for the Ventrue, or she is an illegal child that was covered up. I intend to find out," showing another side of Jake. That for his own friends or himself he was willing to break the rules.

"Huh."  The demon crossed his arms over his chest and looked directly at Bansai.

"I will not interfere with you entering the West District, provided you keep your nose clean and follow district law."  He paused, leaning forward and clasping his hands in front of him on the table.

"In return, all I request is that you share things that you find and be available to fill a role should I ask it of you."  This was the starting point for building trust.

"I agree to your terms Chtahzus'aak, " this was the first step and Mitch was pleased with the results.

"May I ask what role would you have me fill?" Mitch was curious as to what Zeus had in mind for the vampire. One he hoped he would be able to use his talents to the fullest extent, once again.

"When the times comes."  He answered, standing.  "We will be in touch.  I trust you know how to contact me."

Mitchelletto had nothing else to add at the moment, he nodded at Chtahzus'aak comment in how to contact him, this was a small victory, but a victory now the less. Standing up slowly he outstretched his hand to Chtahzus'aak as a sign of respect. He moved towards the door with Chtahzus'aak

"If you do not mind I think I'll take a stroll around the West before the sun comes up. I would like to get started soon as possible," showing Chtahzus'aak that Mitch had no problems telling the demon his whereabouts. It also showed that Mitch was a man of action and was serious about his missions.

After shaking the man's hand, Chtahzus'aak crossed the room to the door.

"As I said, I will not interfere."  He said with a polite smile.  "Do keep me updated on any information you may find."  There was a beat before he continued.

"Outside of this conversation, and in spite of any information that finds its way into my hands, I do not know you."  His tone was serious.  Bansai was not officially working for him, they were not outwardly affiliated.  The plans rested on this kind of anonymity.  It strengthened both of their positions.

The door swung open soundlessly and he lead Bansai through it.  The vampire would be brought back through the compound the same way he came in.

"Understood," giving Zeus an affirmative nod. Mitch agreed with the idea that they remain as strangers, Mitch had to gain Zeus's trust, this he understood and understood it well. Now it was time to play the game, one he had not participated in quite some time and he had to behave; for the time being.

Mitch did not waste time strolling through Zeus's District once he left the compound, politely refusing a vehicle, he would rather walk than drive, at least this time. The hustle and bustle of the district gave Mitch a renewed sense of vigour in his body and mind, his senses tingling like Spiderman as he took it all in; a familiar place and yet a different feel altogether. Mitch didn't try to hide from the camera's with the district, Zeus or his followers should be the only ones watching, and his new found information he was safe from the blood hunt here. If anyone foolishly attacks him here in the West they would have Zeus to deal with, he wondered if Zeus had the same talents as Laurent? Only time would tell.
