Little whispering laughs lingered in his ears, quieter than before. Nikolai didn't move towards the open door. "Damn it! I played my part in your little scheme here, now let me go! It's not like you don't know where I'd go." Anger, contained still by the now lessened presence of leeches, simmered in him. He glared at the demon, debating what he was willing to do to convince Laurent to truly free him.

He made the appearance of thinking about it as he lit another cigarette.  "No, you came close enough with that red-headed bitch."  He exhaled a puff of smoke and crossed back over to the table.  "I can't trust you to keep quiet."

He grit his teeth and Judas raged, rattling the chains in his head against the floor. "How can I convince you to let me go?"

A twisted smile and a booming laugh.  "You want to blow me, is that it?"  Laurent tossed the cigarette at Nikolai like a dart and let his human form drop.  His steps forward rattled some glassware in the cabinets of the kitchenette.

"By all means, you can try, but I can't say it would change my mind."  His dark grey wings twittered with amusement.

Nikolai bit his tongue so hard he scored blood and clashed his teeth together. Foolishness, disgust, shame, hatred. It rolled through him in waves as he stood up and walked out the door without another word to the demon. He tried to tell himself it was worth the shot - he'd taken a fucking from Laurent before to get what he wanted, after all. As long as he detached and pushed himself out of it, he could handle just about anything. But Judas on his throne yelled insults and the leeches seeped into his groin, stirring his cock at the sight of that monster's cock. He was fed images that he hadn't wanted to admit were there - being on his knees in front of Laurent all over again, having his throat fucked. Nikolai slapped the side of his head hard in order to dislodge the images that threatened to etch themselves in.

Nikolai went down the stairs at the end of the hall, needing the physical movement to keep as much of Laurent out of his head as possible. One step down, down, down. Platform, left, right, left, right, down, down, down, down, down...

He didn't hesitate as he left the lobby, throwing open the door and walking briskly down the two blocks to his new car, a black Cadillac Escalade with deeply tinted windows and polished rims. He yanked the door open, put the key in the ignition, and turned back towards the city with screeching tires.

Normally, surprise, shock and awe were things for the pretties. They had to create a world, where things like what Benny was currently witnessing were rare, repulsive and frowned on. It protected them from a fact Benny had learned long before he took the vampire's curse. This was the real world. He watched the exchange between the two men with fascination, and admitted he'd never seen anything like the beast who owned these things. A quick beep in his ear confirmed Eva was getting the feed. He wondered what the Viper would make of the show. The primordial black ooze, that others called leaches, sunk into the being's skin, but Benny noted that not all were taken back. It was an insurance policy. Benny thought that was smart. Perhaps he could recreate the same effect with cybernetics.

Nikolai was still partially leached, and Benny wondered if the new Voodoo witch Jake had hired could wiggle her nose and get rid of them. He hated magic. He hated the Tremere clan with their blood spells and there pyramid. However, he saw the benefit of talking to Nikolai sans leach. As the vampire left, Benny stayed at the window. He'd learned who Nikolai's handler was, and that his name started with Mi. That was enough for now. He'd learned about this hotel, and that was good information too. All in all, the mission was successful. He waited, and watched the leach master, hoping that he'd leave the room so Benny could search it. However, he didn't and Benny deemed continuing to wait not worth whatever information he might learn. It was time to go. He could always return another night.

He lowered himself to the ledge, and swung over to the next window. He retraced his steps to the storm drain and climbed down to the ground. The rodent walked slowly, not wanting to blow it now by getting caught. Once he was several feet away, he found a manhole and jumped down. He could see in pitch black darkness just fine, and would travel back by sewer. His next steps were clear.

From below, he got Lisa-Joe on the phone.

"Hey Lisa. Go look at the tape downstairs. Is very interesting to see."

He chuckled as he hung up. That bitch was going to scream!
Be a sadist. Now matter how sweet and innocent your leading characters, make awful things happen to them — in order that the reader may see what they are made of.
