Set's Scroll of the Night Serpent

Secondary Names:
Apep Texts, Ramses Scroll of Summoning

Currently Owner:
Thesdea Thane

Created By:
High priests of the storm and chaos god Set.
*Massive Demonic Text
*Summoning spell to open portal to hell plane.
*Is impervious to most damage, and rebounds magical attempts at destruction.

Creation:
A being of pure demonic energy, from the deepest of the hell dimensions, whispered to mortal followers of the Egyptian god Set. It claimed to be their god, and appeared in the form of the Set animal, but more commonly as a snake. He told them, bit by bit, how to bring him forth into this world, and they wrote the instructions down on a series of scrolls. The language is ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics, and would require translation from a world expert. A spell of tongues would also work. The scroll contains a detailed list of ingredients and instructions for opening a stable wormhole.  Additionally, the actual incantation is written on the scroll.

Massive Demonic Text:
The scroll seems endless, and has information on several types of demons, as well as epic poetics about the hell dimensions, and some on the war with angels. It would be a demonic historian's dream, and even mortal historians cite this scroll as an important mythological and religious text to the Egyptian people. While there isn't information on every demon in existence, there is information on most of the common types, and even a lot of rare ones. Mimic demons are not mentioned, and information on shadow demons is highly inaccurate. Otherwise all entries are correct.

Spell of Summoning:
Whispered across the void, and through the veil that separates worlds, the demon in the deepest hell whispered the answer to his freedom to the priests of Set. They recorded his instructions and attempted to summon him. However, the vampire clan the Followers of Set interrupted them, declared the mortal priests's Set a false one, and the text was hidden away.

Invulnerability:
The scroll was blessed with powerful magic during it's creation that makes it impervious to physical damage. It can't be torn, made wet, burned by normal fire, and it's images have not faded with time. The scroll will not punish someone who attempts to destroy it by non magical means. Magical attacks are normally rebounded to the caster, including curses. Hell fire, including the kind summoned by fire demons, can destroy the scroll, along with the power of dragons.

Competing Magic
If the scroll comes into contact with other summoning magic, they will compete.
If the scroll comes into contact with curses, it will rebound to the caster of the curse.
If the scroll comes into contact with magic from other planes, they will remain neutral.
If the scroll comes into contact with hellfire, it will be destroyed.
If the scroll comes into contact with dragonic magic, it will be destroyed.
If the scroll comes into contact with blessings, the scroll will remain neutral.

Drawbacks:
The scroll's only weakness is that it is mostly a reference text, and only adds one powerful spell to the owner's book.

Footnotes:
*This entry is found in the book, "Summoning for Advanced Warlocks, 3rd Edition."
**No physical description of the scroll is provided.
*** The reference is written in Greek, and the terms morning star and night serpent are used interchangeably, and several references call Set the fallen prince.
****The reference book consulted does not know the specifics, or the ingredients of the final spell. Only the actual scroll has those answers.
